Overview:

Working as part of our existing team, we require full time Despatch Operatives to assist with the efficient running of the Retail Despatch Department. Essentially, we are seeking determined and committed individuals who can impact on performance and make a positive contribution to the company’s future growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Unloading lorries and weighing product in
  • Scanning product into and back from production
  • Adhering to correct stock rotation procedure
  • Checking yields at the end of production and investigating any issues.
  • Scanning pallets
  • Stacking products correctly in the chills
  • Stocktaking
  • Selecting correct orders
  • Loading containers
  • Clerical duties associated with the despatch of products.

Qualifications:


Essential
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • A good level of spoken and written English
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service
  • Flexible approach to work and be prepared to work additional hours when required to meet customer demand.

Desirable

We have vacancies within a strong existing team for Despatch Operatives, whose goal is to assist in the efficient running of the Department. We are currently looking for operatives on a 06:00am – 14:30pm shift Monday to Friday. Some flexibility in shift pattern may be available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Stack, rotate and stock take in chill storage
  • Select correct stock for assembling orders and transfer stock to despatch bay
  • Process relevant documentation for each consignment
  • Scan all crates on every pallet prior to despatch
  • Check that correct number of crates on each pallet have been scanned and correct destination recorded
  • Some associated duties in other departments when required
  • Ensure cleanliness and promote and maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will:
  • Be comfortable working in a physical and chilled environment
  • Have a positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated outlook
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team
  • A flexible approach being prepared to work extra hours to meet customer demand
  • Ideally trained in Forklift (counterbalance), but training is provided

About the Role:

Our factory is based in Bolton, Sidney Street is currently recruiting for despatch operative’s. Working as part of a team you will be responsible for general duties within despatch and goods in, picking & packing, loading/unloading, paying particular attention to detail while picking and identify product codes accurately.

You must have the ability to work in an organised manner prioritising your workload, whilst maintain high standards, even under pressure.

The ideal candidate must have good levels of numeracy and literacy as well as being a hard-working and dedicated team member. You must be motivated and have the ability to self-manage and demonstrate a flexible approach.

Main Duties:

* Recording Goods inwards / Outwards
* Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate
* To take delivery of goods delivered into stores, with the use of Forklifts where required
* Ensure that all goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner and check for damages and quantity
* Put materials away in stores after deliveries
* To get materials out ready for Factory use
* Assist with stock checks when requires
* Keep stores clean & tidy
* Ability to lift boxes of varying weights
* Monitor scrap metal returns and general waste skips
* MUST have warehouse experience
* Must be of minimum required age for general rules of employment
