Development manager – Healthcare / alternative residential

Private equity backed alternative residential provider is looking to recruit a development manager to join their team. The development manager will be responsible for development, planning and pre-construction works as well as analysing and monitoring cost reports and managing project risk.

Reporting to the group development director, you will be responsible for an acquisition manager as well as managing and building good relationships with external advisors.

Projects are completed at a fast pace, typically 3 months and you will look after a number of projects at any one time, either in development or pre-construction stage. Currently their assets are based in London, South Coast, Essex, East Anglia and East Midlands. A typical project is creating a 4-6 bed home, utilising the structure that you already have and not necessarily having to go out and secure planning, albeit there will be some new build projects.

The successful candidate will have:

• 5 years of demonstrable development experience.
• Experience of building strong working relationships internally and externally.
• Property development including new builds and remodelling/refurbishment of existing.
• Previously worked at SMT level and comfortable operating with a Board and multi stakeholder management.
• Social care industry a real plus. knowledge and experience of working with Learning Difficulties / Autism services.
• Understand financial modelling to support in ensuring financial delivery against set targets.
• Degree level qualification.
• Chartership or working towards.
