SEN Early Years Practitioner for Early Years Nursery
Position: SEN (Special Educational Needs) Early Years Practitioner
Role Overview:
We are seek a compassionate and skilled SEN Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated team at Kiddlywinks Nurseries. As an SEN Early Years Practitioner, you will contribute to the provision of high-quality care and support for children who require additional support and for those with special educational needs and disabilities in our nurturing nursery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with young children with SEND to provide personalized support that addresses their unique needs and encourages their holistic development.
Plan and implement activities that stimulate sensory exploration, communication skills, motor development, and social interactions within that Kiddlywinks Nursery ethos.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with parents/guardians to gain insights into each child’s strengths, challenges, and preferences, fostering a collaborative approach to their care and education.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, sharing observations and insights that contribute to a well-rounded understanding of each child’s progress.
Adapted Learning Strategies:
Utilize a range of teaching strategies and resources to adapt learning experiences to the individual needs of children with SEND, ensuring their engagement and participation.
Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes positive peer interactions and emotional well-being.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
Conduct ongoing assessments to track children’s progress and identify areas for growth, adapting strategies as necessary.
Regularly update and maintain records of each child’s development, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Professional Development:
Stay informed about the latest research, techniques, and best practices related to special educational needs in early years education.
Attend relevant training and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Relevant qualification in early childhood education or a related field (e.g., Diploma in Childcare and Education)
· Additional training or certification in special educational needs and disabilities is desirable.
· Proven experience working with children with SEND in an early years setting.
· Solid understanding of child development, particularly in relation to children with SEND.
· Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with children, families, and colleagues.
· Compassion, patience, and a genuine dedication to supporting the well-being and growth of children with SEND.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £11.60 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
