Job Description

Our client is seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services Bias) on a permanent basis to support Project Teams in producing bespoke designs. As integral parts of the organisation, you will be at the forefront of developing electrical systems that power a wide array of exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop advanced electrical schematics
  • Analyse and optimise electrical systems to ensure performance and efficiency
  • Generate detailed requirements for electrical systems, laying the foundation for exceptional designs
  • Capture and document electrical schematics and designs with precision and accuracy
  • Select the most suitable cables and protective devices, ensuring the highest level of safety and reliability
  • Provide expert advice and review on electrical component selection, contributing to the success of every project
  • Collaborate seamlessly with engineering and project teams to achieve outstanding results
  • Embrace various engineering tasks that support projects and programs, showcasing adaptability and versatility
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, contributing insights to shape the future of the business
  • Maintain thorough and organised documentation, following local operating procedures
  • HNC or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Team player mentality, thriving in a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Previous involvement in specifying electrical components
  • Sound knowledge of Electrical standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Rapid learner with a flexible and adaptable engineering approach
  • Familiarity with electrical schematic capture and drawing review
  • Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Rail electrical work
  • Experience in designing Electrical systems

Electrical Design Engineer

Our client a leading electrical engineer company based in Armagh who to the successful acquisition of new contracts are seeking to add a design engineer to their team.

The job role:

  • Responsible for the Electrical Design of products.
  • Responsible for assisting in all aspects of electrical design from site surveys of existing assets, optioneering, feasibility studies, detailed design and tender pricing.
  • Producing Single Line Diagrams, Cable schedules, cable calculations, BOMS, Electrical Layouts.
  • Ensure Design, Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to
  • Knowledge & experience of current statutory and industrial standards.
  • Show an eagerness to learn and progress in your own career as well as the mentoring and training of more junior staff.
  • Project Preparation of documentation for the testing, inspection and commissioning of the electrical systems
  • Focus on reducing cost and cycle time on current plant equipment and projects

What you’ll need to succeed

You will have a recognised degree in Electrical Engineering or similar. Ideally have 3 years plus experience in electrical design with knowledge working on Eplan. Familiarity with health & safety regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
