Electrical Manager & QS
Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Manager/QS to join our well-established company.
Your role will include conducting quality checks, managing the submission of Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), Part P certifications, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will drive the development and growth of the electrical department, overseeing both residential and commercial projects.
Main Responsibilities –
- Help lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the electrical department to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Supervising our team of electricians, apprentices and labourers.
- Ensure all electrical work meets current British Standards, regulations & the NICEIC and company expectations.
- Act as the company’s Qualified Supervisor (QS) and complete all associated works and assessments.
- Completes estimate’s for jobs and oversee project costing to ensure profitability.
- Provide training and mentorship for new electricians as the department grows.
- Oversee inspection, testing, verification, certification, and reporting processes inline with the NICEIC requirements.
- Manage both residential and commercial electrical work projects.
- Carrying out some installation works
- Working in co-operation with other trades / occupations and assisting when able and necessary
- Carrying out other reasonable duties as deemed necessary in meeting MJR Group SW’s business needs
- Attending meetings with work colleagues and or Clients/Customers when necessary
- Dealing with Client/Customer queries and communications professionally and efficiently
- Ensuring appearances and actions are professional
Key skills
- Hold relevant qualifications, 18th Edition, City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 with AM2, 2391 Test and Inspect qualification or equivalent.
- Full UK driving license
- Good literacy skills
- Well organised and able to meet deadlines
- Excellent people management skills
- Have a thorough understanding and commitment to ensure that all relevant health and safety statutory obligations and methods of good practice are effectively incorporated within all operations.
- Previous experience of working at recent QS level or self-employed would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will have experience as an Electrician, Supervisor and will have a positive, flexible attitude and good communication skills.
