We have an opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join our Human Resources team. You will be responsible for working collaboratively within the Employee Relations Team, to provide effective and efficient management of your casework including, Disciplinary, Grievance, Dignity at Work, Absence Management, Performance, and Capability Procedures.

This is an exciting time to join the Employee Relations Team, as we develop an ambitious set of objectives to support our company vision, whilst focussing on our people. We are looking for someone who can contribute to the delivery of these objectives, and who enjoys being part of a friendly and supportive team.

The successful candidate will have practical experience within the HR function and be confident in providing advice on Employment Relation matters as well as having a good understanding of employment law. You should possess excellent people skills including motivating, persuading, conflict management and negotiating skills, and be able to demonstrate a willingness to build and maintain a wide range of professional relationships.

This is a fast-paced and diverse environment therefore you must be able to work effectively and possess strong communication and organisational skills. You must also be resolution-focused, with an aim to improve business outcomes.

Working within a team of four, this role will see you carrying out duties such as;

  • Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on the full range of Employee Relations services across the employment lifecycle.
  • Supporting in the development of HR policies and procedures – advising managers in their understanding and practice of these policies and procedures.
  • Building and maintaining a wide range of professional relationships across the business, with the intent to improve business outcomes.
  • Taking a pro-active mind-set, with the ability to anticipate, address business issues, and offer solutions.
  • Work collaboratively within the Employee Relations Team, to provide effective and efficient management of your casework including, Disciplinary, Grievance, Dignity at Work, Absence Management, Performance, and Capability Procedures.
  • Using HSIS data to efficiently analyse, interpret, and produce various management reports.

If you’re naturally curious, have proven experience of dealing with and managing employee relations cases and are looking for your next challenge, come join us as a European Employee Relations Advisor on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract based in Media City, Manchester (hybrid working schedule).

A key member of the European ER and Reward team, you would contribute to the development and maintenance of positive employee relations providing timely and accurate advice and guidance to HR and line managers. In this European ER role, you will be responsible for managing various employee relations cases. You must possess proven experience in operational, day-to-day HR activities with a real current, in-depth knowledge of ER principles, practices and tools, especially in the UK and Ireland.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

Case Advice – Provide advice and guidance to employee, managers and business facing HR on employment-related matters including contractual issues, employee relations and HR related matters in accordance with HR policies and procedures, legislation and best practice referring to senior ER colleagues and/or Legal as appropriate.

Case Management – End-to-end management of escalated, complex cases across performance, conduct, grievance, flexible working, probation, absence issues and DSARs, recommending courses of action where required.

Exit Management – O wn the end-to-end exit management process for all Company instigated exits, including drafting of documentation and required calculations, such as redundancy.

Continuous Improvement – T ake a proactive role in the continuous improvement in the management of employee relations at including keeping up to date with any legislative changes and developments in best practice HR and Employee/Labour relations, sharing these within European HR where appropriate

We’re looking for Someone With

Experience of operational, day-to-day HR activities with a current in-depth knowledge of ER principles, practices and tools, especially in the UK and Ireland

Proven experience of dealing with and managing employee relations cases with minimal direction for example disciplinary, grievances and performance management issues up to and including dismissal, providing coaching to those involved

Flexible, problem-solving approach and strong team player with strong customer focus

Excellent attention to detail and good numerical and analytical skills

Experience of dealing with trade unions and/or staff associations would be desirable.
