We currently have an exciting opportunity for Maintenance Technician – Day Role
to join our busy team based in Holywell.

Working as part of the Site Engineering Team, as a Maintenance Technician you will work closely with the Production, Quality Department and Fire Test Centre; responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to a high standard, undertaking planned maintenance tasks, repair activities, mechanical and electrical installations across the site in order to maximise the equipment availability and product quality with a core HS & E focus.

What will you be doing?

  • Undertake a range of electrical and mechanical planned maintenance and repair activities to maximise the reliability of site machinery and equipment. Primarily focused on the Fire Test Centre, PV Assembly, Powder Coat Facility and Shop 1.
  • Maintain all plant and equipment to comply with all current legislation, HS&E, group procedures and business requirements.
  • Work with Plant Engineer to develop maintenance schedules, critical spares, OEM SLA,s and service visits.
  • Work with Plant Engineer / Site Services Manager to ensure legal compliance.
  • Concise, clear and accurate reporting within the CMMS.
  • Communicate within the Engineering team to ensure a comprehensive shift handover
  • Active involvement in RCI team to drive continual improvement.
  • Ensure compliance to preventative maintenance routines for all site equipment.
  • Communicate equipment issues or parts order replacement within the CMMS. Liaising with Plant Engineer and Stores Envoy.
  • Monitor equipment performance and work with the wider plant engineering team to design out recurring problems.
  • Active role in own, Shift Engineers and Apprentice training.
  • Assist Divisional Engineering with implementation of new machinery or upgrades of existing machinery.
  • Carry out installation work to include modifying existing equipment and installation of new equipment.
  • Inspect completed installations and maintenance repair work to ensure conformance with required operational and legislative standards.
  • Control Contractor activity within area of responsibility.
  • Support site management in ensuring that site systems & procedures are operated across the site fully in accordance with company health & safety policy, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure that group health & safety, quality and environmental policies are followed through all activities on site and that appropriate records are maintained.
  • Support group management in the pursuit of business development and improvement programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 & 50001 accreditations and all other certifications currently in place, including CE marking.
  • Report compliance concerns, issues, and failures; 
  • Participate in training as required; 
  • Ensure site adherence to and operation of the Compliance Management System responsibilities within ISO 37301 Clause 5 sections 5.3.4., the company handbook and Code of Conduct.

In this fast paced environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in leading projects to develop production capabilities, driving and maintaining a solid foundation of Total Preventative Maintenance, whilst also providing a supporting role to production to ensure minimum downtime through dynamic fault resolution to real time problems.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the automotive industry, however experience of similar industries combined with appropriate qualifications and a professional attitude will be equally beneficial.

Whilst not essential, useful skills and qualifications for this role would include:

  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship / HNC / HND
  • PLC / HMI Experience. Diagnosis and Resolution.

Due to an internal move we are now seeking a Multi Skilled Engineering Technician to join us within our Blow Moulding site at Severnside.

As a Multi Skilled Engineering Technician your purpose is to provide high quality scheduled and unplanned/reactive maintenance across site. Actively identify root cause and bring the equipment back in to service as quickly as possible as well as seeking and identifying cost effective improvements to site assets and equipment, improving efficiency and reliability.

Key responsibilities as an Engineering Technician:
  • Ensure that you are conversant with all drawing Electrical, Pneumatic and Mechanical.
  • Basic automation skills for fault finding and remediation, strong electrical skills HNC equivalent, sound mechanical skills for diagnosis and replacement
  • Diligently complete all maintenance tasks, PM, CBM, CI and corrective. Contribute to FMEA activities when required.
  • Identify & implement Improvements

What we’re looking for from a Multi Skilled Engineering Technician:
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
  • HNC Electrical preferred, Mechanical with additional electrical qualification or competence

Permanent contract: 4 on 4 off 7-7: (2 days/2 nights/4 off)

We are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Manchester Dairy within our Muller Milk & Ingredients business. As a Multi Skilled Engineer you’ll provide, safe front line reactive maintenance. Actively identify root cause and bring the equipment back in to service as quickly as possible as well as actively seeking and identifying cost effective improvements to site assets and equipment, improving efficiency and reliability.

Key responsibilities as Multi-Skilled Engineer:
  • To ensure effective handover of information across shift
  • Uses PMS to support prioritisation and problem solving (RCFA)
  • To diagnose faults and to test , repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment
  • To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure and provide CMMS data
  • Contact OEM’s and other suppliers for technical support as and when required and expedite parts when not available on site
  • Lead shift based problem solving where corrective actions aren’t clear
  • Working as ONE TEAM with First Line Response Technician
  • Coaching of operators with asset care tasks
  • Identify & implement Improvements
  • Identify life cycle issues and raise these with possible recommendations
  • Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques / RCA techniques through to 100 year fix
  • Use and support departmental 5s programmes for workshops and stores

Key Responsibilities

  • Be proficient in the efficient use of AutoCAD and REVIT to produce high quality drawings.
  • Develop an understanding of Mabey Hire’s equipment and how the components fit together.
  • Produce general arrangement and detail drawing to communicate the temporary works designs produced by the engineers.
  • Produce accurate kit lists to allow enquiries to be quoted.
  • Produce fabrication drawings for special parts when required.
  • Effectively manage own workload within Launchpad to ensure deadlines are met, including maintaining accurate timesheets.
  • Undertake basic calculations to support the production of drawings.
  • Take responsibility for driving own leaning and development. Set individual goals utilising the Always Aiming Higher (AAH) framework and work towards them.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to play a critical role in supporting the design engineering team in the development of new products and improvements to existing designs.

  • Report writing.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc or other degree in an electronic discipline, or demonstrable experience in this area.
  • Hold extensive knowledge and experience of electrical products of an analogue and digital nature.
  • Strong problem solving, fault finding and diagnostic skills, including use of oscilloscopes
  • Appreciation for different types of PCB components and testing methods.
  • Experience of Labview or other NI software platforms.
  • Previous experience in compliance and EMC testing (advantageous)
  • Understanding of coding, specifically embedded C (advantageous)
