Estimator/Project Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a buyer / estimator to join our long established small family Engineering business. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process and formulating competitive tenders, ensuring that our supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to meet organisational needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company objectives.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible terms.
• Manage supplier and customer relationships, ensuring quality, delivery, and compliance with specifications.
• Expand our customer base, formulate competitive tenders.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years experience as a Buyer / estimator in structural steel fabrication.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively. .
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• Knowledge of logistics processes is an advantage but not essential.

Pay is subject to qualifications and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.00-£17.00 per hour
