Evening Bar Supervisor

Job Description

The Duke of Oxford is an independently run Pub/Restaurant in the centre of Weston Super Mare.

We are looking for experienced front of house staff with supervisory experience. Applicants should be able to confidently run busy shifts in a bar/restaurant, able to manage both FOH and kitchen staff. Applicants should have brilliant customer service skills and conflict management skills. You must be able to uphold all legal legislation with confidence.

Applicants must have a passion for hospitality, be confident and personable with customers and colleagues alike. Ideally, applicants should have experience with opening up and closing down licensed premises. Applicants should be confident with all aspects of bar/restaurant work; barista skills, cocktails, wines, cellar experience/ troubleshooting, as well as confidence when serving tables and dealing with any questions/issues from customers.

Applicants should be comfortable organising busy shifts – supervising both the bar and multiple tables for dining. You will be the responsible person when on shift, ensuring the shift runs smoothly, and any issues are communicated to senior management when necessary. You must be able to present yourself well, communicating with all customers respectfully.

You may be expected to organise cover for sickness/absences if these occur during your on duty hours, cash up at the end of a shift, and conduct stock takes – training will be provided if necessary.

Ideally, we expect applicants to hold a Personal License, however, we can assist with gaining this license should the successful applicant require one.

Applicants should be at least 21 years old.

Salary can be discussed following a successful interview.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week
