We are seeking to appoint an Examinations Officer who will support in delivering efficient and effective exams service to our students at the Kingston Maurward Campus. The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and efficient individual. You must have high attention to detail, be proactive and an active problem solver.

Status: Permanent

Hours: 37 Hours per week with flexibility to meet business needs, Monday-Friday, some weekend work may be required to support exam set up.

Salary: £22,869 per annum which is Point 19 on the College published salary scale.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Exams Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of exam regulations and procedures and be able to work effectively under pressure on a long term basis at a school in Birmingham.

It is essential that you have previous experience of working as an Exams officer in a school environment however, applicants with strong administration experience in a similar sector will also be considered but you must have the drive and enthusiasm to learn new skills and can adapt quickly. Being friendly, outgoing and highly motivated. We will accept applications from people who have worked in settings such as a College or University.


The successful applicant will:

  • Manage the entire examination process, from planning and timetable creation to results analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all exam board regulations and policies.
  • Prepare and submit exam entries.
  • Organise invigilation and special arrangements for exams.
  • Process exam results and issuing certificates.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to exams.
  • Liaise with exam boards, schools, and parents.


What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in data entry and basic computer skills (e.g., spreadsheets).
  • A calm and professional demeanor with the ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Understanding of exam procedures (experience with invigilation is a plus!).
