Experienced Baker

Job Description

The Singl-end Cafe Bakehouse are seeking a Full-time experienced baker to come in to join our team of bakers. Since our opening we have successfully grown our business and kitchen team, we are looking to hire someone who can compliment what has already been achieved. Our bakery is based on using locally sourced ingredients and baking to traditional and contemporary recipes which allow the quality of ingredients to shine and is heavily vegan and gluten free influenced.

The bakery not only supplies the Singl-end with breads and baked goods, it also has its own online shop which allows opportunity to create bespoke cakes. Any successful candidate will firstly gain knowledge of where the existing business is positioned learning the recipes, working with the team and then as they progress be able to work within the systems either individually or as part of the bakery as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare and bake a variety of bakery products, such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies
– Follow recipes and ensure that all products are made to the highest quality standards
– Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
– Operate baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters
– Monitor baking process and make adjustments as needed
– Decorate and present baked goods in an appealing manner
– Maintain a clean and organized work area
– Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines

Requirements:
– Previous experience working in a kitchen or food production environment
– Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods
– Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
– Knowledge of baking techniques and pastry decoration is preferred
– Culinary degree or certification is a plus
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
– Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
– Strong communication and teamwork abilities
– Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00-£14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
