Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of canine behaviour and training techniques, with the ability to work effectively with both dogs and their owners. This role is essential in helping to improve the relationship between pets and their families, ensuring a harmonious living environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programmes tailored to individual dogs and their owners.
- Conduct group training sessions and private lessons, focusing on obedience, behaviour modification, and socialisation.
- Assess each dog’s temperament and behaviour to create personalised training plans.
- Provide guidance and support to pet owners on effective training techniques and responsible pet ownership.
- Maintain accurate records of each dog’s progress and communicate updates to owners.
- Ensure a safe training environment by adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals when necessary to address behavioural issues related to health concerns.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary practices and animal care principles.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Experience in heavy lifting, as some training equipment may require physical strength.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to ongoing professional development in dog training methodologies.
Pay: Based on experience, skill set, knowledge of canine behaviour, and qualifications.
