Job Description

Diverse Abilities is Dorset’s disability charity, founded in 1955 by a courageous local mum whose daughter was born with cerebral palsy. The supported living service allows adults to live as independently as possible in their own home and make everyday choices with the 24/7 support of a dedicated team.

The Role

Diverse Abilities is now recruiting a waking night support assistant to join our supported living service, supporting adults in their own home. We are looking for waking night support assistants who are looking to work night shifts and support adults with disabilities.

*Due to the current demands on the service, we require a FEMALE Waking Nights Support Assistant*

Hours per week : We have 3 vacancies with the following patterns

Vacancy 1

26 hours per week on average – working on a 2 week rolling rota

Week 1

Monday 10pm- 10am

Thursday 10pm-10am

Week 2

Monday 10pm- 10am

Thursday 10pm-11am

Saturdays 10pm-7am

Vacancy 2

12 hours per week

Every Saturday 10pm-10am

Vacancy 3

16 hours per week on average – working on a 2 week rolling rota

Week 1

No shifts

Week 2

Wednesday 10pm-9.30am

Friday 10pm-9.30am

Saturday 10pm-7am

(Please note: from 10pm to 7am the hourly rate is £12.82- £13.50

from 7.00am-10.00am the hourly rate is £11.44)

A waking night support assistant works in one supported living property. You will have the opportunity to build a good relationship and work closely with the people we support to achieve their life goals whilst providing a consistent support approach alongside your team.

You will also be responsible for the promotion and safeguarding of the welfare of the Adults at Risk that you come in to contact with.

We also offer enhanced pay on weekends. Experience is not essential as full training and ongoing support will be given. As part of the role you will be given the opportunity to study a Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social care free of charge.

**FULL UK Manual Driving License is Essential for this role **
