Permanent – Full Time

We are looking to recruit a Floor Layer to join our team in Hunslet, Leeds, covering regions across Yorkshire.


About the Role

Working to deliver the best quality service, carrying out responsive and planned repairs to both occupied and void properties, you’ll be required to prepare floors then fit carpets, vinyl and wet room floors, including hot weld.

You’ll receive and complete assigned tasks using a handheld device (full training), working efficiently and safety in line with best practise to achieve excellent customer experience.


About You

Candidates will hold a relevant trade City and Guilds qualification, with excellent working H & S knowledge. Customer focused with experience of working in both occupied and void properties, you’ll have a passion for completing high-quality repairs on time, first time.

You must hold a valid full or automatic UK driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months as a company vehicle will be provided (work use only).

Who we are:

Due to substantial and continued growth throughout this year and to support our 2025 plan, we require floor layers across England, Scotland, and Wales.

Aim:
As an experienced floor layer, you will aid the installation team which consists of a project manager and installation fitters with carrying out full bathroom installations, efficiently and with the highest possible quality of workmanship.

You will be a professional floor layer that takes pride in their work and has a practical mind and manual dexterity, able to work with great attention to detail and with customer service at the heart of what you do.

As a domestic floor layer for wet rooms and wet zones, you will be responsible for completing floors involved in installing and fitting bathrooms in accordance to building regulations. The preparation of the floors will be undertaken by the bathroom installers.

What we provide:

  • The preparation of the floor will be undertaken by the bathroom installers.
  • Floors are delivered to customer properties.

Requirements:

  • Must have 1 years experience.
  • Must be able to must be able to install polyfloor with hot weld
  • Ability to install altro flooring.
  • Have appropriate tools.
  • Must be CIS registered.
  • Must be able to weld cap and cover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and install a wide range of flooring materials to precise specifications.
  • Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and smoothing surfaces to ensure proper installation.
  • Remove existing flooring and dispose of debris efficiently and responsibly.
  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including saws, adhesives, and leveling compounds.
  • Assess job sites and create accurate estimates for material needs and timelines.
  • Ensure installations meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
  • Supervise apprentices or junior team members, providing guidance and on-the-job training.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on the latest flooring techniques, materials, and trends.

Skills and Requirements

  • Experience: A professional floor layer, with expertise in multiple flooring types and techniques.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using hand and power tools specific to flooring installation.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on precision and finishing work.
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of performing manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various positions.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve challenges during installation.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.
  • Driving License: A valid UK driving license is preferred for transporting tools and materials to job sites.

Education and Certifications

  • CSCS card is advantageous.
