Melville Castle is a Picturesque Castle Hotel with 33 bedrooms and is a popular wedding and events destination. The Castle joined the Original Collection in May 2021 and has been refurbished over the past year with an exciting vision and future ahead.

As well as our culinary offering, Melville Castle is synonymous with the service experience provided and a location that is the first choice for celebrations, dinner, lunch and drinks.

We’re looking for someone who cares about good food, how and where it’s produced. Someone who’s inspired by seasonality and is passionate about amazing customer service.

As an F&B Manager you are responsible for advocating and delivering a five-star food & beverage experience to our guests alongside supervisors and team members. You will be responsible for all aspect of F&B within the hotel. You are responsible for supporting F&B and the wider hotel team with daily operational and people management tasks. You will lead by example in your management style, people development and coaching, sales-orientated approach, performance reviews/management and ability to not only manage but also undertake any operations role within bars, restaurants, IRD or events/banqueting operations as the business requires. You will represent the department and uphold expectations, reputation and service standards in all that you do.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

The role

Our Food Beverage Managers focus is to create positively memorable dining experiences for our guests. Through positive leadership of the FB team, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient, effective and profitable service that meets revenue and cost targets.

The role reports directly to the General Manager / Operations Manager and is part of a team based from our attractive hotel in Leicester / LE2 7QS

Food Beverage Manager duties include:

  • Overseeing the food and beverage department, ensuring a consistently outstanding level of service is delivered to all guests and diners
  • Promoting a culture that anticipates customer needs wherever possible, and to react to these to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Establishing and achieving quality and guest satisfaction goals
  • Keeping your knowledge up to date, enabling you to make recommendations to guests
  • Monitoring budgets and controlling expenses and labour costs
  • Proactively engaging in marketing your hotels restaurant, both in house and externally
  • Drive promotions that deliver Outstanding dining experiences for guests

What you’ll bring to the team

An ideal candidate for this role should possess the following attributes:

  • Demonstrable success in a Food and Beverage Supervisory/Management position.
  • A passion for the Food and Beverage industry and keeping up to date with trends.
  • A strong leadership, capable of motivating and influencing other to work to defined procedures and standards.
  • Numerate, computer literate and able to manage resources within agreed budgets.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and health safety procedures.
