Job Description

Maryculter House is one of the most famous and historic hotels in Aberdeen. Nestled on the banks of the River Dee, many of our 40 bedrooms boast stunning views coupled with contemporary Scottish interiors.

Your role as Front Office Supervisor is to support and report to the Front Office & Events Manager.

Hours of work 32-40 hours per week. Weekend availability is essential for this role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Focus on maintaining a high standard of service and growth of the business
  • Overseeing reservations (both hotel and restaurant) to ensure high standard of guest experience from beginning to end
  • Overseeing and compiling internal reports and business summaries, meeting weekly deadlines
  • Representing the department in departmental meetings if required
  • Involvement with the production of new rates, offers and packages
  • Providing comprehensive training to new recruits and supporting the team
  • Assist Front Office & Events Manager with rotas, recruitment, and any potential queries/issues pertaining to Front Office staff
  • Handling guest complaints effectively and efficiently, ensuring a positive resolution
  • Ability and availability to work based on business requirements (flexibility for weekends, bank holidays etc)
  • Role mainly focused on the desk, shift work (0700-1500, 1000-1800, 1445-2300)
  • Experience with Guestline is preferred but not essential

The Delta Hotels by Marriott Waltham Abbey are now recruiting for a dynamic and passionate Front Office Supervisor to join our Front Office Team.


What you will do

As a Front Office Supervisor you will be responsible for:

  • Process guest check-ins, assigning rooms and activating room keys
  • Co-ordinate with Housekeeping to track readiness of rooms for check-in and report any guest concerns
  • Answer, respond to and process all guest calls, messages, questions or concerns
  • Give guests information and directions regarding property and local areas of interest
  • Process check-outs and resolving any disputed charges
  • Process payments and room charges
  • Confirm reservations and cancellations, running daily reports on the number of arrivals and departures
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in administering front office functions and supervising staff on a daily basis
  • Support with training, coaching and developing the Front Office team in order to support associate development and engagement
