Future Survival is an innovative entertainment hub offering laser tag, airsoft, retro and modern gaming, VR experiences, and a range of exciting activities for all ages. We’re dedicated to providing engaging, educational, and entertaining experiences, and we’re looking for a passionate and tech-savvy Gaming Lounge Lead to join our team and help create memorable moments for our customers.

In addition to our entertainment offerings, we run a weekly coding class, deliver inspiring talks for schools and youth groups, and host a STEM club to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in fun and interactive ways.

Role Overview

As a Gaming Lounge Lead, you will be responsible for assisting customers in our state-of-the-art gaming lounge, which features retro and modern gaming equipment, VR headsets, and STEM-focused activities. You’ll manage gaming sessions, organise events, teach coding, and foster a passion for STEM subjects among young learners, ensuring an engaging and inclusive experience for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement and Bookings:
  • Assist customers with walk-ins, online reservations, and party package bookings.
  • Provide gaming advice and support to players of all experience levels.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for gamers and learners alike.
  • Event and Activity Management:
  • Plan and run gaming sessions, events, and parties, ensuring they run smoothly and on schedule.
  • Deliver weekly coding classes following a structured plan of work.
  • Organise and host STEM club activities that encourage curiosity and learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Prepare and deliver talks for schools and youth groups, showcasing gaming technology and STEM concepts in engaging ways.
  • Technical Support and Setup:
  • Maintain and organise retro and modern gaming setups, ensuring all equipment is clean, operational, and ready for use.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with gaming equipment and VR setups.
  • Assist with basic coding tasks, such as managing custom gaming configurations or simple tech troubleshooting.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Manage 1–2 staff task lists, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Support team members during events and activities.
  • Marketing and Promotion:
  • Collaborate on marketing efforts by showcasing gaming and STEM features during events or for social media campaigns.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Passion for Gaming:
  • Strong knowledge of retro and modern gaming platforms and an enthusiasm for sharing this with others.
  • Coding and STEM Knowledge:
  • Basic coding knowledge (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with STEM concepts and the ability to teach them in an engaging and accessible way.
  • Customer Service and Engagement:
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • Experience delivering talks, workshops, or classes is an advantage.
  • Organisational and Technical Skills:
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail when managing events, bookings, and tasks.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting technical issues with gaming equipment and VR setups.
  • Teamwork and Leadership:
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing small teams is an advantage.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £10.00-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
