Group/Division

The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
As the SPTS Division of KLA, we design, develop, and manufacture high-tech capital equipment for the semiconductor and related global markets. You’ll be joining one of our Engineering teams, providing operational support and solutions from our head office in Newport as well as being given opportunity for you to travel supporting customers and suppliers, involving travel throughout Europe, Asia, and USA.

This role is part of our 2025 Graduate programme and will start in September 2025.
Company Introduction:
Following the Company’s extensive onboarding and introduction program, you will join our Graduate Development programme which includes: Technical Classroom training, Soft-skills training, Team building, Corporate responsibility activities and finally placement across all of our Operations and process teams.
It is not required for you to already have the skills and knowledge to perform the role, full on the job training will be provided through our graduate develop scheme. You will then be welcomed into your Team and continue your development supported by your SPTS mentor!
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Part of multi-functional team, supporting the manufacture of semiconductor manufacturing equipment that follow stringent product change control criteria.
  • Working with stakeholders across our Operations and Engineering Teams to support change control activities during the manufacturing process and after the systems are installed at customer sites.
  • Creating new and maintaining existing Assembly, Test and System Audit procedures (SOPs – Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Running multiple projects to evaluate replacement components affected by upcoming obsolescence. Generating detailed reports and incorporating these into customer presentations as part of the Customer Change Notification process.
  • Creating and maintaining 2D drawings with AutoCAD Electrical in conjunction with Enovia, building your skills and proficiency in this area.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting faults and performance issues on systems assembled in manufacturing.
  • Providing regular updates to the rest of the CE! team on project progress, summarising results in a written report or presentation.
  • Establishing effective customer and team relationships to ensure clear communication of results and ideas.
  • Planning your work and executing plans in a safe, sensible, and timely manner
This position may require working some shift patterns to fully utilise our state-of-the-art manufacturing cleanroom and maintaining continuous Production. We will seek to give as much notice as possible where travel or shift work are required. SPTS will of course provide travel expenses and a shift allowance in line with company policy.

Your qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (2:1) in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.
Applicants with a Masters or prior experience of studies within the semiconductor industry would be desirable but certainly not a must.
A good acquaintance with SW tools (MS office, MATLAB) would be advantageous.
