Job Description

Really excited to be working with a market leading services based business in Harrogate on their search for a financial accountant!

As Financial Accountant, your duties will include:

  • Involved in the interim and year-end external audits
  • Supporting the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and reports in accordance with local requirements and standards
  • Supporting the wider finance teams in the preparation of month end close and monthly management information which forms part of the Board reporting
  • Managing the consolidation process with the rest of the Financial Reporting team
  • Working with other central service departments to deliver value add reporting
  • Input into technical accounting matters to support the judgements and estimates applied to the financial statements
  • Supporting and assisting the Group Tax Manager with the preparation of tax returns
  • Ensuring strict compliance with company and regulatory standards

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Financial reporting or Audit experience
  • Understanding of IFRS and relevant financial accounting regulations
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills

We’re keen to speak to first-time movers from larger Practice/Audit firms (ideally Top 6). If you’re not the finished article, that’s okay-this role is designed for someone ready to grow into it. Both the hiring manager and the FD have a Practice/Audit background and understand the transition.

This is a business that values work-life balance. The team doesn’t work long hours, and hybrid working is the norm (1-2 days in the office, 3-4 days from home).

The Role:

  • Prepare year-end consolidation and Group Annual Report, along with UK subsidiary statutory accounts.
  • Support the year-end audit for the Group and subsidiaries and establish a global group reporting function.
  • Drive process improvements and provide technical expertise to influence key stakeholders.
  • Support acquisition accounting, M&A integrations, and undertake ad hoc international projects for standardisation and assimilation.
