Job Description

Michaeljohn Training School is an Apprenticeship Training Provider specialising in delivery of hairdressing and barbering apprenticeships. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Hairdressing Assessor to join our successful team.

Established in our sector for 43 years, we deliver Traineeships and Apprenticeships in partnership with over 250 employers across Greater Manchester. Based in the Northern Quarter of the City Centre we are a reputable provider, well respected within the industry and training sector, driven to deliver the best training for our learners and employers.

We are searching for an experienced and highly skilled hairdresser and qualified assessor/educator (barbering skills desirable).

The candidate will hold the necessary qualification(s) to assess candidates (A1/TAQA/CAVA). Candidates with teaching qualifications in the post 16 FE sector also preferred, although not essential.

A minimum of 7 years hairdressing experience and a level 3 hairdressing qualification (or equivalent) is required.

The role is based 3 days per week at our city centre academy with posibilty of various salon locations throughout Greater Manchester. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.

Working as part of the Teaching & Learning Team, you be responsible to the Programme Managers to maintain the standard of qualification delivery.

Applicants will be required to evidence hairdressing qualifications and professional background; a trade test of skills and micro teach will be required.

The role is Part time (Monday and Wednesday 09:30-17:30, Tuesday 09:30-18:30).

Pay: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

  • Hairdressing: 7 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Assessing Qualification (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing (required)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (preferred)
