We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and manage health and safety across all Mission Zero Technologies (MZT) sites, including offices, facilities, and site operations. This critical role ensures the safety of our people, compliance with regulations, and the effective implementation of H&S systems across diverse environments.

The H&S Manager will also have the opportunity to oversee safety operations internationally, supporting our growing global footprint. This role is perfect for a highly qualified H&S professional with a strong manufacturing or process engineering background, who thrives in dynamic and innovative environments.


What you’ll be doing

Health & Safety Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and maintain MZT’s Health & Safety policies, systems, and processes across all sites, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all H&S-related matters across office spaces, laboratories, engineering facilities, and operational sites.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, providing leadership, guidance, and training to teams across the organization.


Compliance and Risk Management

  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections across sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations, including those related to process engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Monitor and report on H&S performance, maintaining comprehensive records of incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions.


Training and Communication

  • Design and deliver H&S training programs tailored to diverse operational environments, including office-based staff, lab teams, and field engineers.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of H&S policies and initiatives through effective communication channels.


Incident Management

  • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring readiness across all sites.


International Oversight

  • Provide H&S guidance for international operations, ensuring alignment with local regulations and best practices.
  • Travel to international sites as needed to conduct assessments, deliver training, and support global H&S initiatives.


Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to continuously improve MZT’s H&S systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative safety solutions tailored to our unique DAC technology.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role
  • Strong qualifications in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH Chartered Membership, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in H&S management within manufacturing or process engineering environments.
  • International exposure and experience working across different regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required to support global operations.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S regulations, risk management, and incident investigation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Ideally you’ll also have
  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Familiarity with sustainability-focused practices in H&S management.
  • Hands-on experience in labs, engineering facilities, or industrial-scale manufacturing operations.

The Malloy Aeronautics Team:

Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.

About The Role:

The Health & Safety Manager will have responsibility for delivering safety, health and environmental improvement activities, and providing competent advice and coaching in a fast-paced and exciting manufacturing, engineering & development environment focus on VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) technology.

You will work with the business teams to drive implementation and maintenance of an ambitious programme of Health, Safety and Environmental improvements within the business framework. The successful candidate will display strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees from all levels of the business.

You will be active in manufacturing and production areas of business at a site near Maidenhead, including supporting off site working visits. The main activities are supporting risk assessment, incident investigation, continual improvement activities, supporting coaching in safety, health and environment practices and providing support to the business. You must also be able to lead projects and drive safety, health & environment in a demanding environment with teams made of graduates and professionals. You will be comfortable with making interventions to discuss safe and unsafe behaviours, and challenging accepted practice in an appropriate and positive manner.

Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK

What you’ll being doing:

· Help embed & improve the safety, health and environmental policy and standards through presence in the business with effective communication.

· Help transform the safety culture by modelling safe behaviours and providing effective observations and feedback to others. Demonstrate a continuous improvement mind-set.

· Lead and contribute to risk assessments; provide advice and support implementation of appropriate control measures, ensure assessments are reviewed and updated with appropriate stakeholder support

· Drive timely incident reporting and thorough root cause investigation, providing leadership and advice. Ensure timely closure of actions and sharing of learning with our teams

· Provide suitable information and coaching to teams using all appropriate methods of communication. Develop internal training materials and work with others to help coordinate external training.

· Perform regular workplace inspections and audits. Help ensure that audit actions are assigned to relevant stakeholders for completion.

· Contribute to daily, weekly and monthly business performance review meetings, supporting the prioritisation of safety, health and environment and delivering actions as appropriate.

· Provide competent and coherent advice and guidance to managers and employees on legal requirements and good practice, showing willingness to take personal responsibility to embed improvements.

Essential Skills and Experiences:

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.

· Health and safety experience in Manufacturing & engineering or similar environment

· NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent as a minimum.

· Experience of leading incident investigation in a multidisciplinary team, developing action plans and driving to completion.

· Experience in carrying out workplace audit and inspections and determining appropriate actions and accountability.

· Experience carrying out risk assessments, reviewing existing controls and recommending improvements, preferably in a multidisciplinary team.

· Demonstrable experience in prioritisation of issues and working both independently and with others to ensure they are addressed with appropriate urgency.

· Data management and reporting skills using Microsoft software packages.

· Experience in managing a small team (1 – 3)

Desired Skills and Experiences:

· Diploma (NEBOSH, NVQ, NCRQ level 5+) or equivalent higher qualification is an advantage.

· Experience of coaching employees on safety, health and environment ranging from graduate entry-level personnel to experienced professionals.

· Experience of products and platforms which feature VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) technology

· Experience of delivering training & toolbox talks

· Experience of writing and reviewing management system procedures, to comply with ISO or similar standards.

· IEMA qualification or experience in Environmental Management.
