Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heating Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in various technical tasks related to gas installations, repairs, and maintenance. This role requires a commitment to safety and quality, ensuring that all work complies with industry standards and regulations.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair heating appliances and systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Conduct thorough inspections of heating systems to identify any issues or potential hazards.
- Perform routine maintenance on heating equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and plumbers, to complete projects efficiently.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as necessary for installation and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on-site.
Skills
- Proficient in heavy lifting as required for the installation of heating appliances.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools is essential for performing various tasks.
- Familiarity with commercial driving may be beneficial for transporting equipment to job sites.
- Skills in carpentry, plumbing, welding, and assembly are advantageous for comprehensive project completion.
Qualifications
- Gas Safe registered (essential)
- Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a heating engineer, with a strong background in installation and maintenance.
- Valid full UK driving License
