Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit a HGV 1, CE, Class 1 SHUNTER DRIVER on behalf of our client to join their team in LEEDS, LS10. This is a temporary to permanent position for the successful applicant.

This position will start ASAP.

Hours of work:

• Nights
• Monday to Friday
• 22:00hr – 06:00hr
• 40 hours per week basic

Salary and permanent basis:

• £31,000 per year
• Minimum pay 8 hours per shift whilst working for the agency

The Role:

• Shunting on sites in a HGV 1 , CE, class 1 vehicle – bay and yard work
• HGV 1 work
• Follow, promote and communicate the use of safe working practices in line with all relevant Health and Safety Legislation and Company’s procedures

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Shunting in a HGV 1, CE, class 1 vehicle in the Yard / bay work
• Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures.
• Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
• To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner.
• To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills:

• Be able to work on own initiative
• Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat CE licence.
• Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card.
• Must hold a valid Digital tacho card.
• Some shunting experience would be advantageous
• Good communication skills.
• Good customer relations.
• Have a safe driving record.
• A minimum of 24 months’ experience as a Class 1 driver
• No more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations.
• No DR’s, IN’s or DD’s offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
