HGV II / Class 2 Driver (TRAMPER)

Job Description

HGV II / Class 2 / C Trampers – Delivering plants and flowers on behalf of a family owned nursery across the UK. Based near Wisbech, driving a temperature controlled Rigid with a tail lift to nurseries, garden centres and stately homes.

You will be responsible for ensuring load is securely stacked and stowed, the trays especially if delivering plugs and smaller plants can be very heavy, they are on castors and you do help move them, a reasonable amount of physical fitness is required.

You could find yourself spending five days making deliveries around Devon and Cornwall or up in Scotland, in the Valleys of Wales etc. Units are sleeper units, starts tend to be earlier with finishes around 1700 hrs as the nurseries and garden centres close.

Fluent spoken English, polite, and helpful can-do attitude, this is a contract we supply every year, the client is professional, friendly and treats drivers with the upmost respect, it is expected you will do like wise.

As you will be sleeping in the unit 4 nights per week, if your scared of the dark or parking in country lay byes and off road streets this is not the job for you.

Sunday – Thursday £16.00 Per Hour

Monday – Friday £16.00 Per Hour

The 6th Shift Friday or Saturday depending on rota is classed as premium at £20.00 phr

Night Out Allowance £25.00 Per Night

This contract usually runs Feb to Sept

You will need:

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Must have held Licence for a minimum of 12 Months
• Max 6 points (we do not work with IN10, DD, DR, DG or CD Convictions)
• Digi Card
• CPC Card
• Customer Focused
• Understand and willing to follow temperature control instructions
• Able to work either shift pattern
• Able to commit to the season
