Job Role: Hire Controller
Rota : Monday – Friday – DAYS
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

My client, a large Tool / Plant / Powered Access hire company operating Nationwide, are looking for a Hire Desk Controller to join their team.

The role of Hire Controller in brief:

Taking hire enquiries via telephone, email and our online ordering system.
Checking availability of machines and ensuring that machine statuses are always up to date on our systems.
Coordinating with the engineering and transport teams to ensure that the correct machines are ready and delivered to customer sites.
Communicating effectively with other colleagues, and providing a helpful and friendly point of contact for depot enquiries.

The ideal candidate for Hire Controller :

Previous experience in a Plant, Powered access, Tool or Material Handling industries.
Good knowledge of Microsoft packages, and computer skills in general.
Good communication skills.

Role: Hire Controller – Woking Depot – 45 hours per week – 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday

About you:
Are you a determined and experienced Hire Controller within the Plant Industry? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hire Controller to join our talented and friendly team at Morris Leslie Plant Hire in Woking.

You will be responsible for processing orders, coordinating drivers and everything in between. You will be the first point of call for customers and you will ensure that their requests are dealt with efficiently and effectively. You will also ensure that all deliveries are scheduled as well as dealing with any customer issues that may arise with a calm and friendly manner.

What you’ll need:

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a similar position within the Plant Hire industry
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with the ability to build working relationships
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment
  • Efficient time management

We’re looking for a Hire Controller to join a market leading supplier at their site in Bedford.

What will you be doing as a Hire Controller?

  • Handling telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries and orders from customers
  • Ensuring the accuracy of all paperwork, including hire and sales contracts, purchase orders, and stock transfers
  • Coordinating with the warehouse team to ensure the availability of equipment required for hire
  • Organising drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery and collection of equipment
  • Adhering to company Health & Safety policies to ensure safe working practices
  • Maximising consumable sales opportunities at every interaction
  • Meeting deadlines for the accurate reporting of information

What do you need?

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Familiarity with InspHire software (or similar)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A full driving licence due to the location of the role
