Overview:
We are currently seeking a dynamic Hospitality Assistant to join our team at Morar Living. As a Hospitality Assistant you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional guest services and enhancing the hospitality experience within the care home.

About the job:

  • Breakfast duties and Lunch duties, serving residents from the bain-marie.
  • Serves all food and beverages at mealtimes as well as refreshments throughout the day.
  • Provide Residents with attention and company.
  • Get to know the Residents and their lifestyle preferences.
  • Support and assist visitors.

About us:

The Department has a strong commitment to customer Service and aims to ensure best value for money for its customers and the college.

The role will support the Catering Services function and provide a professional and competent level of service to all customers working closely with the catering team to ensure that the agreed services are delivered on time to the required standards.

Working under the direction of the Hospitality Manager your main role will be the delivery, setup, and collection of all hospitality services.

You will be based in the Hospitality department but be flexible and able to work in any of the College outlets.

About the role:

We are looking to recruit a hospitality assistant to work at LIHE on our St Thomas Campus. This is a hands-on role, and the post holder will be involved with the delivery and lay out of food and drinks, food service and room set up and breakdowns. The successful candidate should have a sound knowledge of customer service and catering for hospitality and events.

The ideal candidate will be a good team player who demonstrates a passion and commitment to providing excellent customer service. They should have a flexible and positive approach, possess excellent communication skills, and have a solid understanding of food hygiene regulations.

The contract is offered on a 5 out of 7 days basis and will involve working evenings and weekends.

This is a full time post on an indefinite contract.

About you: (the candidate)

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1. Good written and verbal English.

2. Basic level of computer literacy (ability to access emails and online training).

3. Excellent at working as part of a team or alone.

4. Ability to complete multiple tasks at the same time.

5. Excellent attention to detail.

6. Excellent time management skills.

7. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with colleagues and management team.

8. Good hazard awareness/ability to identify and report issues.

Desirable criteria.

1. NVQ level 1 or equivalent catering qualification

2. Hold a current Food Handlers certificate.
