A STYLISH AND LIVELY COMBINATION OF RESTAURANT AND BAR ON THE CORNER OF CHORLTON STREET AND CANAL STREET.

Situated within an iconic location of Manchester’s nightlife history and split across three floors, Maya will house numerous areas, each with its own vibe, to take guests from day to night. From a canal-side bistro space serving modern-European classics to a lower ground-floor, elegantly designed dining room that will centre around an ingredient-led, locally sourced and seasonal menu.

Maya will take the ground and lower floors of 40 Chorlton Street and shares part of the same landmark early 20th-century warehouse building occupied by the new neighbourhood hotel, Leven. Maya’s interior backdrop will merge the original industrial nature of the space with inspired details of art deco grandeur and disco-era pop-culture references in beautiful and surprising ways.

As Host/Hostess you will be representing Maya with your warm welcoming presence. You will support the reception team and floor team during service keeping communication seamless.

Our care home is situated in the charming setting of Pinkhill, providing excellent Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for 83-residents.

We’re seeking a dedicated Host to oversee the smooth operation of our dining areas, ensuring our residents and visitors enjoy top-notch service in a clean and safe setting.

What You’ll Do


  • Café Management:
    Oversee the function and proper use of the dining areas, including any garden spaces, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Food Storage:
    Keep fridges clean, ensuring food items are correctly stored, labelled, and rotated according to our guidelines. Maintain clean food storage cupboards and manage stock rotation in the café area.

  • Dining Setup:
    Assist in setting up the dining room for lunch and dinner, including dressing tables to create an inviting dining environment.

  • Menu Management:
    Update menu displays daily, keeping offerings fresh and appealing.

  • Meal Provision:
    Provide meals and drinks to residents who visit, and assist with their meals if needed, coordinating with care staff.

  • Refreshments Service:
    Offer refreshments such as tea and coffee to residents, relatives, and other visitors outside of regular mealtimes.

  • Communication:
    Maintain clear communication with the Head Chef regarding supplies and any special requirements.

  • Feedback:
    Collect information from residents about their dining experience to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Compliance:
    Ensure that all tasks align with company policies, HACCP regulations, COSHH regulations, and infection control practices.

  • Training & Supervision:
    Undertake induction and supervision of new staff and attend mandatory training sessions as required.

Salary: Up to £29,000 plus tips (DOE)

(up to £9,000 potential tip earnings)

Hours: Wednesday – Saturday (Every day, every week)

SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are looking for someone welcoming, polite, professional, confidant and with a key eye for detail. This role requires someone that can respond to customer demands and spot and solve issues as they happen and ensure every guest gets the Midsummer experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Meet and greet every guest

· Manage booking technology and customer information

· Check the restaurant for perfect presentation, maintenance and repairs

· Liaise with the restaurant team at all times

· Share and train as part of the restaurant team

· Take care of the customers as they leave the restaurant

· Follow up any enquiries, questions and merchandise sales

· Answering the telephone to customers if required
