Job Description

Duncote Hall in Towcester is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 33 residents. Dining is a social occasion and our dining rooms are warm and welcoming. We encourage friends and families to join us for meals with prior arrangement or afternoon tea. We also cater for special celebrations for our residents. Menus are prepared in consultation with input from our residents, to ensure that cultural and personal preferences are considered, while achieving a balanced nutritional diet.

As an kitchen assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards and with the correct use of all equipment and materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report and record in the appropriate manner any information considered to be important to the Homes Manager
  • Ensure that the Cook-in-charge is kept informed of any changes or problems that occur during his/her absence.
  • Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies
  • Ensure that all machines are used correctly, cleaned and stored. Any faults or damage is to be reported immediately.
  • Ensuring the correct storage and rotation of stocks.

Essential Skills

  • Previous catering experience is preferred.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

As Host/Hostess, you will:

  • Provide a courteous and efficient service to all guests and maintain the levels of service to the highest standards.
  • Be responsible for managing bookings and greeting and seating guests in a warm friendly manner.
  • Be proudly represent Jean-Georges at The Connaught and be a true ambassador for excellent service, dealing with all requests and queries in an efficient and professional manner, whether face to face or over the telephone.

Entry Requirements

You must:

  • Be motivated and highly organised and preferably have previous experience within a similar role.
  • Be a strong communicator.
  • Be able to work well within a large team and have a special passion for hospitality and luxury service.
  • Have an excellent personal presentation, preferably with basic computer knowledge.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated hospitality staff to help serve our clients in our purpose-built sate of the art new care home in Haddington. 1 years’ work experience in the hotel or restaurant sector would be ideal.
