Hotel Receptionist/Night Receptionist
Job Description
Reporting to: Reception Manager
Whately Hall Hotel is recruiting for our reception team and we want those with friendly personalities, a positive outlook and the ability to learn to apply.
Previous hotel experience is not essential, but may be an advantage.
About the role:
As a Receptionist you will contribute the first impressions of our Guests and play a key part in delivering prompt exceptional customer service to our guests in order that the most professional and caring imagine is portrayed at all times. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain a positive attitude and the ability to drive the Whately Hall Hotel values and brand standards.
Your duties will include:
- Achieve positive outcomes from Guest queries in a timely and efficient manner;
- Ensure an efficient reception experience for Guests, including check in/out, and complete audit procedures, as required;
- Ensure that the Front Office Manager and Duty Managers are kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and, or, other departments;
- Attend appropriate training courses, when required;
- Demonstrate a knowledge of hotel room categories, room rates, packages, promotions and other general product knowledge necessary to perform daily duties;
- Maximize room occupancy and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities;
- Use the correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel credit policy;
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation;
- Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems;
About you:
We are looking for a flexible and capable individual with a passion for this type of work, who will strive to exceed guest’s expectations and will be able to work as part of a team but will also be a self-motivated individual.
You must be able to work across 8hr shifts patterns which are between 7am-3pm. 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am.
You should also be able to demonstrate:
- A general relevant experience including high level of customer service and guest relations;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive and ambitious with a good eye for details and accuracy;
- Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service;
Previous experience as a receptionist within a hotel environment and knowledge of reservation systems such as Guestline Rezlynx are also desirable but not essential.
