What does the Nursery Housekeeper role entail

Welcome to the heart of Kido, where passion, ambition, and people are at the core of everything we do! As the Nursery Housekeeper, you’ll be more than a Housekeeper; you’ll be an ambassador for our values, and a gatekeeper for our vibrant culture.

We set the bar high aiming for nothing less than greatness and your role will be instrumental in achieving that. Get ready to immerse yourself in ensuring that the nursery is presented to a high standard. You’ll be proud of maintaining cleanliness and complying with Health & Safety, Environmental Health and COSHH regulations.

Day-to-day you’ll ensure everything is in its rightful place, fresh and clean, ready to amplify the children’s learning journeys, ensuring clean surfaces, items, floors and laundry is maintained. Tidiness is also key, ensuring bins are emptied and belongings are organised.

It’s not just the classrooms that you’ll be responsible for; the front-of-house area is where we make the first impression. To ensure it’s inviting and welcoming for all you’ll arrange fresh flowers, stow away shoes, tidy leaflets and tables and hang up coats. Your efforts will create a space where children can flourish, parents find comfort and the whole team excel. You’ll play a key role in creating an environment that reflects our commitment to excellence in early years.

What we’re looking for

• For the Housekeeper role there are no specific qualifications needed but COSHH training is beneficial
• A friendly and efficient approach comes first alongside an interest in working around children
• Your values will align with our 3 core values – Listen, Learn and Lead
• You will likely have some previous experience in a Housekeeping or Cleaning role
• You must hold the right to work in the UK
• If shortlisted you’ll be asked to provide details of all unspent convictions prior to interview, in line with our Safer Recruitment process. We will also process an Enhanced DBS Criminal Record check for anyone who joins the team

kinderzimmer Amersham is housed in a charming detached three-storey building, offering a welcoming and secure environment for 3 month to 5-year-olds. The 140-place nursery is situated in a tranquil countryside setting, the location is conveniently close to Amersham’s historic high street, featuring a variety of amenities including eateries, shops, and a supermarket just opposite. Excellent transport links abound, with Amersham train station a short 15-minute walk away, providing connections via Chiltern Rail and the Metropolitan Line. Nearby bus stops offer regular services, and the M40 motorway is easily accessible within a 12-minute drive. What you will be doing

As a valued member of the team, you will supporting educational activities through your daily tasks, which includes but is not limited to;

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Ensure all areas of the nursery, including playrooms, bathrooms, outdoor area and kitchen facilities, are kept clean and sanitised to high standards.
• Regularly inspect toys, equipment, and furniture for cleanliness and safety.
• Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious breakfasts, snacks, and lunches for children, following dietary guidelines and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, including washing dishes and storing food items appropriately.
• Manage laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and organising children’s clothing and linens.
• Ensure that laundry facilities and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
• Assist in the opening and closing procedures of the nursery, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and according to established policies and procedures.
• Secure the premises at the end of the day, including locking doors and windows, and setting alarms.
• Complete all daily checks as outlined by the management team
• Support in the room ratios where required
