Our Housekeeping Supervisor will support our Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the daily operation of Housekeeping. The Ideal Housekeeping Supervisor will work alongside senior management and team members, to ensure that the highest level of cleanliness is being delivered and the expectations of our guests are consistently exceeded.

Essential Experience

  • Prior experience in a housekeeping role
  • An understanding of hotel operations
  • Passion for cleaning and up keeping standards
  • Proven experience in motivating a team
  • Clear communication skills, enabling you to effectively manage relationships cross departmentally
  • Excellent attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the general day to day management of the housekeeping department
  • Preparing task lists for housekeepers; ensuring all departures and mid stay cleans are scheduled correctly
  • Taking ownership over the standards of the apartments
  • Managing all stock and inventory
  • Supporting with recruitment, retention and motivation of a small team
  • Ensuring communication remains transparent both with your team and with senior stakeholders

They are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor who will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the residential building, including individual units (end of tenancy/term deep cleans) and communal areas such as hallways, lobbies, laundry rooms, and recreational spaces. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently.

You will be supporting a management team that is assigned to look after the well-being of the building and all residents. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English language are a must as you will interact with different individuals including international clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in all areas of the building.
  • Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from individual units and communal areas.
  • Sanitisation: Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, restrooms, and communal facilities to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the building management.
  • Supplies Management: Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Resident Interaction: Provide courteous and professional service to residents, addressing any cleaning-related concerns they may have.
  • Special Projects: Assist with special cleaning projects and seasonal tasks as required.

Qualifications:

The Housekeeping Supervisor we are looking for will take pride in the properties they work in, within Edinburgh. Our Housekeeping Team Members are an essential point of contact for all our guests, by delivering a warm welcome and ensuring guests receive quick, efficient, and professional service throughout their stay. You will be working up to 37.5 hours per week, over 5 days out of 7 on a rota system.

You must speak fluent English, although other languages are advantageous.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Agreeing quality standards with Management and maintaining them through planning, training and daily supervision of the team, ensuring the Mansley quality standards are maintained at all times
  • Monitor and ensure staff morale and motivation is high
  • Conduct cleaning quality audits of apartments on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with Front Office for any early departures and organise early cleaning for arrivals
  • Maintain and order appropriate levels of stock to ensure the smooth running of the apartments, and within budget
  • Ensure laundry stock and standards are maintained, rejected items are recorded properly and effectively
  • Liaise with Front of House to report any items in need of renewal or repair
  • Ensure proper use of chemicals/cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, training for team members, and proper labelling and storing of chemicals

Person Specification:

  • Personal Presentation/hygiene of utmost importance, uniform clean and ironed at all times
  • Support housekeeping staff and share knowledge
  • Good Time Management, with a flexible attitude to working shifts
