Our client Hyosung Heavy Industries UK Branch is recruiting an Junior Site Manager to join their business in the UK.

1. Minimum Requirements

2. Roles and Responsibility

[Leadership and Oversight]

  • Lead and oversee the installation and commissioning of power transformers, ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the daily management and coordination of the installation process on-site.

[Planning and Hazard Evaluation]

  • Conduct pre-site assessments to identify hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards, fostering a safety-first culture.

[Operational Supervision]

  • Oversee all aspects of the installation and commissioning process.
  • Engage with clients and subcontractors through virtual and on-site meetings.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Hyosung safety policies, client requirements, legislation, accepted Risk Assessments/Method Statements, and site rules.

[Safety and Quality Management]

  • Ensure staff awareness of potential risks and manage essential documentation in compliance with UK regulations.
  • Implement Hyosung Quality Policy on site and ensure the agreed Installation and Commissioning Inspection and Test Plan is followed.
  • Conduct weekly site safety and quality inspections.
  • Ensure construction plant and equipment brought on-site by subcontractors is in good condition and that construction materials and equipment delivered to the site are inspected for conformance with specifications.

[Subcontractor and Resource Management]

  • Guide subcontractors towards safe and efficient practices, verifying their competence and commitment to project goals.
  • Ensure all Hyosung and subcontractor personnel have attended the PC Induction briefings and that evidence of individuals’ competency (e.g., training records) is available and valid.

[Progress Monitoring and Collaboration]

  • Conduct regular site inspections and participate in coordination meetings to align project activities.
  • Continuously monitor and communicate daily project status to all stakeholders.
  • Produce weekly progress reports and provide updates to the PM to allow the 4-weekly look-ahead to be updated.

[Client Engagement and Industry Networking]

  • Develop strong client relationships through strategic networking.
  • Gather and assess client feedback to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain positive relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.

[Commissioning Supervision]

  • Conduct detailed inspections, tests, and diagnostics on power transformers.
  • Oversee commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase.
  • Prepare comprehensive commissioning files, recording test results and operational data.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to clients, including training on the maintenance and operation of power transformers.

[Documentation and Reporting]

  • Ensure all required documentation is available, report incidences and near misses, and follow the incident reporting chain.
  • Generate technical queries when site issues require resolving, report non-conformances, and quarantine defective items where possible.
  • Ensure Inspection & Test Plans are implemented, snag and defects lists are maintained and closed out, and mark-up drawings are shared with relevant parties.
  • Keep track of safety hours on a monthly basis and submit them to the team leader by the end of each month.
  • Obtain ETOS serial number, software version, RHI image file, event log, dump file, and history, and provide 4W lookahead input to support PM in submission.

[Project Programme Monitoring]

  • Regularly monitor the project programme and ensure site activities and quality of work are properly coordinated.
  • Review and update Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning, and SCT15 population.
  • Ensure SCT15 is compiled before moving on from the project and that any known snags and defects are recorded on the appropriate register.
  • Ensure that the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and check sheets have been signed and provide the observation note along with an action plan.

3. Other Working Conditions

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Safety Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience no required or less 3 years
  • Driving licence holder

4. Salary & Other information

  • VISA : Work Visa Holders of a visa that allows them to work legally in the UK
  • Salary : Depending on experiences.
  • Recruitment : Full time
  • Schedule : Mon-Fri, 8 hours a day

5. Process

  • 1st : Document review (Written review of submitted documents such as resume, self-introduction letter, and certificate)
  • 2nd : Interview (comprehensive evaluation of skills required for job performance through interview and foreign language evaluation)
