Job Description

The Opportunity

At the South Hook LNG site we are responsible for delivering surface protection services across the site.

To maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Carry out their role in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws.

Weekend work & overtime may be required as per the business need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have a thorough insight into methods of surface treatment and application of protective coatings
  • Health and Safety – site aspects detailing the painters requirements to meet H & S regulations.
  • Access Plant and Equipment – including scaffold and mobile platforms
  • Surface Preparation – all forms of preparation including hand and mechanical, they should also know the fundamentals of blasting so they can assist with the blast set up if required.
  • Coating Types – all types of paint from single to two pack, holding primers to high build.
  • Application Types – all forms of paint application including brushing, rolling and should also know the spray fundamentals so they can assist in the set up if required.
  • Quality Control – to understand the reasoning behind quality control and the ways in which we take readings (wet/dry film thickness, environmental readings)

Requirements of the Role

Essential:

– Train the Painter, OPITO or iCATS certificates essential

– Must have experience in Coatings, Blasting or Spraying

Desirable:

– Full UK Driving Lisence

– CCNSG or CITB HSE Test for Operatives

Basic: £16.00

OT1: £24.00

OT2: £32.00

NS: £21.28

Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Spray Painter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in spray painting, with the ability to work effectively in a paint booth environment,preferably using airless spray painting equipment, . This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes on various industrial components.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary.
  • Operate power tools and hand tools for painting tasks.
  • Apply paint using various techniques, ensuring an even and durable finish.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
  • · Ensuring that all necessary quality standards are being achieved and correctly recorded.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.

Experience

  • Proven experience in industrial spray painting or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment is advantageous.
  • Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating paint quantities are beneficial.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment.
  • Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work is crucial.

Job Description

Role:

This role reports directly into the Paint Supervisor

The purpose of the role is to paint a range of components to a high standard ensuring the correct surface finish is achieved and ensure they meet customer requirements as per customer specifications.

This role is based on site at our Loanhead office.


Closing Date: 27/01/25

Duties will include:

  • Able to read engineering drawings and understand customer requirements – paint processes
  • Preparation of jobs prior to painting mainly masking. Shot blasting.
  • Apply paint to products using brush, roller, conventional, airless and pressure pot spraying techniques.
  • Achieve the workload on the weekly work to list.
  • Operate manually operated overhead crane as and when required.
  • Quality Checking own work prior to final verification by Paint Inspector
  • Ensure that all activities comply with all the relevant procedures and standards.
  • General housekeeping.
  • Other duties as required to meet the requirements of this position. (back up blast operator)

Essential skills, experience and knowledge requirements:

The successful candidate must;

  • Time Served Painter – Train The Painter (TTP), ICATS
  • Experienced in Paint Preparation – Masking and Shot Blasting.
  • Proactive and confident team member.
  • Self-starter and requires minimal supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible (Willing to work overtime and nightshift).
  • Have a strong attention to detail and able to keep accurate records.
  • Have knowledge in the use of PPE including air fed remote breathing equipment
