Korean Head Chef
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our Korean BBQ restaurant, known for offering an authentic Korean dining experience. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the quality and authenticity of Korean BBQ dishes, managing kitchen staff, and creating an inviting and memorable experience for our customers.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Korean BBQ techniques, marinades, side dishes (banchan), and traditional Korean cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Development:
- Innovate by introducing seasonal BBQ specials and modern twists on traditional Korean dishes.
- Ensure all dishes meet high standards of authenticity and quality.
Kitchen Operations:
- Oversee and manage kitchen day to day operations, the preparation of meats and presentation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Maintain an efficient and organized kitchen to meet demand during busy periods.
Inventory and Supplier Management:
- Monitor stock levels to ensure fresh ingredients are always available.
- Control kitchen costs, manage waste, and work within a budget.
Quality Control and Safety:
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared with consistency in flavour, texture, and presentation.
- Uphold food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef, preferably in a Korean BBQ restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of Korean BBQ techniques, marinades, and traditional side dishes.
- Leadership skills to manage a diverse kitchen team.
- Food safety and hygiene certification is a plus.
- Passion for Korean cuisine and culture.
