Job Description

  • To provide appropriate support to the Home Office and other organisations during legacy and archive related work.
  • To lead discrete internal and inter-agency teams if required.
  • To deliver information management audits for appraisal, selection and sensitivity reviews, and other monitoring.
  • To deal with complaints/appeals relating to data that is held by Operation Resolve and related integrity matters.
  • To ensure that data is dealt with in compliance with relevant legislation and protocols.
  • To develop and maintain Information Sharing Agreements with partner agencies.
  • To develop, deliver and implement information and records management standards.
  • To prepare data and material held by Operation Resolve for the National Archive in accordance with legislation and protocols.
  • To undertake tasks, as necessary, to facilitate the closure of Operation Resolve.
  • To consider legal challenges to reports and produce documents for use at judicial hearings.

Search and retrieve data from HOLMES and other databases including Relativity and Lextranet.

Ensure that information collected is recorded and evaluated in accordance with the Guidance on the Management of Police Information 2006. (MOPI).

Ensure the safe storage, continuity and movements of material and exhibits is recorded.

Review continuity of documents and exhibits to demonstrate the integrity of material.

Arrange for the retention and return or disposal/destruction of material where appropriate.

Work in partnership with, and form good working relationships with personnel in other organisations to minimise duplication of effort and achieve consistency in procedure and process.

Ensure that all data, including sensitive data and exhibits, are managed and handled appropriately and in accordance with PACE, Public Records Act, CPIA and archiving protocols.

To undertake information risk assessments, participate in the development of a strategic audit plan and undertake complex risk based audits of the information held by Operation Resolve and other organisations.

To provide advice and guidance on archiving protocol and processes to Operation Resolve and other organisations.

To manage a diverse audit, appeal, compliance and advisory workload, ensuring that managers, stakeholders and customers are kept informed of progress.

Rate: £22.56 per hour Umbrella

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £22.56 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
