Henry Fanshawe School
is a successful, oversubscribed school with 1,886 students on roll including 361 in the Sixth Form. It is situated close to the centres of Sheffield and Chesterfield on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible to work with groups of students at both KS3 and KS4 and also with students who have specific special educational needs. We are looking for outstanding individuals who have the personal skills and drive to help students overcome their barriers to learning whether these are specific learning difficulties, emotional and social difficulties or medical disabilities. The successful candidates would be an integral part of a strong department. Previous experience of being a Teaching Assistant is not essential, although experience of supporting young people is an advantage.

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only)

This is a role with an opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and progress of our pupils, working to provide one-to-one and group support and teaching. You will be adapting teaching resources, thinking of new ways to learn, being fun and creative in your approach and adaptable to childrens needs. Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued in our school – you will work closely with our SENDCo and SEND team to provide our children with the best possible educational opportunities. An element of your duties will also include preparation of fantastic teaching resources/class displays.
