About The Role


We are looking for Life Practitioners to join our team at The Gables in Swinderby, Lincoln
.

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Life Practitioner to join our team. As a Life Practitioner, you will provide essential support to individuals with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. You will play a key role in helping them live fulfilling, independent lives by assisting them in daily activities and accompanying them on trips into the community.

We provide a company vehicle that can be used to transport the people we support to community activities such as shopping, meals, appointments, and outings. To drive the company vehicle you must have held a full UK drivers licence or have been driving in the UK for 2 years or more.

Here at Kisimul we’re dedicated to improving the lives of the children with Autism and learning difficulties that we support everyday.

We’re excited to be opening a brand new Children’s Home called ‘Clann Dion’ – a beautiful home located in Rand, just outside of Wragby, LN8.


About the Role.

As a Support Worker/ Life Practitioner you’ll be an integral part of the team, teaching young people life skills in context and support them to integrate these skills. We’ll give you all the training you’ll need. You’ll contribute to and promote the development of young peoples’ communication, self-help, and independence skills – undertaking actions devised by other specialist colleagues, such as speech therapists and educational psychologists and providing feedback on sessions. Plus, support individuals with maintaining and improving their health and supporting emotional needs, always promoting increased independence. Support Workers participate in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational activities such as trips to the Safari Park, fun fairs or local restaurants.


We offer flexible hours to suit your family life.

Days – 40hrs per week. Shifts either 5 x 8 hour shifts or 4 x 10 hour shifts (between 7.30am and finishing at 8.30pm). Part-Time shifts also available. Days/hours to be agreed with Manager.

We’ll pay and support you to learn new skills and to pass your care diploma.

About the Role.

About You.

If you have a background in care work, great, we’ll work with you to develop you to where you want to get to, however, you don’t need a background in care to become a Support Worker, just a caring approach and passion for helping others.


We offer flexible hours to suit your family life.

Days – 43.5hrs per week. 7.30am and finishing at 8.30pm (1 hour break).

The rota pattern is typically a 2-week rota. Week 1 works Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat and Sun. Week 2 works, Wed and Thu.

Pay progression recognising your professional development and career progression.

Many of our senior leaders have been promoted from support roles and we’ve supported them along the way.

We’ll pay and support you to learn new skills and to pass your care diploma.


Pay transparency:

The Support Worker salary starts at £12.00 ph (Level 1) and goes up to £12.50 ph (Level 2), increasing to £13.00 ph (Level 3) depending on your experience and development. A decision will be made at interview to determine starting salary dependent on experience.

We also offer enhanced hourly rates on additional hours, for those who choose to work overtime.

About the Role.

As a Support Worker/ Life Practitioner you’ll be an integral part of the team, teaching young people life skills in context and support them to integrate these skills. We’ll give you all the training you’ll need. You’ll contribute to and promote the development of young peoples’ communication, self-help, and independence skills – undertaking actions devised by other specialist colleagues, such as speech therapists and educational psychologists and providing feedback on sessions. Plus, support individuals with maintaining and improving their health and supporting emotional needs, always promoting increased independence. Support Workers participate in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational activities such as trips to the Safari Park, fun fairs or local restaurants.

About You.

If you have a background in care work, great, we’ll work with you to develop you to where you want to get to, however, you don’t need a background in care to become a Support Worker, just a caring approach and passion for helping others.


We offer flexible hours to suit your family life.

Days – 43.5hrs per week. 7.30am and finishing at 8.30pm (1 hour break).

The rota pattern is typically a 2-week rota. Week 1 works Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat and Sun. Week 2 works, Wed and Thu.

Choose your career pathways and we’ll help build your skills to get you there.

Pay progression recognising your professional development and career progression.

Many of our senior leaders have been promoted from support roles and we’ve supported them along the way.

We’ll pay and support you to learn new skills and to pass your care diploma.


Pay transparency:

The Support Worker salary starts at £12 ph and can increase to £13 ph depending on your experience and development.

We also offer enhanced hourly rates on additional hours, for those who choose to work overtime.

About the position:

As a Life Practitioner, you will be key in supporting young adults with complex needs. We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious individual who can offer complete commitment to supporting our young adults to fulfil their potential. This is a challenging role with huge rewards.


What will you be doing:

  • Working with the staff team across all levels to safeguard our young adults at all times.
  • Participating in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events held within the home and wider community.
  • Assisting with practical tasks relating to care. For example, cooking and cleaning.
  • Creating positive relationships with the young adults, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
  • Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs of the young adults.
  • Continually maintaining accurate and clear record keeping.
  • Ensuring that the needs of the young adults are being met and regularly reviewing and recording any changes to their needs.
  • Actively contributing to the development of the team.
