Who we are looking for:

· Retail Support Engineers to join our team and deliver retail maintenance solutions across the UK. You will deliver customer excellence by ensuring installations are serviced and maintained within contractual SLAs.

· Full training and equipment will be provided. The role will involve daily regional travel and national as required.

Responsibilities:

· Attend retail stores to carry out preventative, and reactive maintenance, display installations and updates.

· Installation/replacement peripherals.

· Diagnostics and repairs of display fixtures, electricals, and digital media devices.

· Display tidying and cleaning.

· Attend appointments on-time.

· Manage and maintain stock holding of spare parts.

· Liaise with other team members, retailers, clients, and the general public.

· Detailed, timely and accurate completion of site visit reports and feedback.

· Review location specific documentation for display placement.

· Understanding of client requirements, expectations and needs.

What you’ll need:

· Field Service/Maintenance Engineering background.

· Experience of using powered and unpowered hand tools.

· Flexibility to travel, training sessions and or work away is a possibility.

· Full driving license with no more than 6 points.

· At least 3 years driving experience.

· Customer centric attitude.

· Team player approach and willingness to get stuck in.

· Proactiveness to getting things done.

· Knowledge of wiring and ability to read wiring schematics.

· Quick at learning new software systems and technologies.

Job Description

Due to increasing demand for our products, Michelmersh Brick Holdings are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team at our Romsey (Hampshire) plant as a Maintenance Fitter.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be working in our Maintenance department, supporting the Maintenance Manager in the continuous improvement of all factory areas such as Health & Safety, production output, efficiency, productivity, and environmental impacts. The role itself involves management of all day and afternoon maintenance activities, stores stock accountability, carrying out PPM, workshop, and stores housekeeping, ensuring downtime is minimized and company standards are complied with.

An awareness of health and safety must be demonstrated in the workplace at all times.

The key job duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager whilst being integrated into a team of fully skilled engineers.
  • Report to breakdowns, including Mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatics failures as a priority to ensure plant uptime is kept at a premium ensuring that all production targets are maintained.
  • Assist in the analysis of breakdowns to establish route courses and implementing of corrective action.
  • Contributing towards PPM system ensuring proactive checks being completed on time.
  • Overhauling, Manufacturing, repairing, and refurbishing of parts and equipment in the onsite maintenance workshop outside of breakdowns & PPMs.
  • Fulfil parts requisitions on the completion of work to ensure stock levels are retained, hence minimizing downtime.
  • Assist with ongoing project work e.g., new equipment installation/ factory improvements.
  • Liaise with fellow colleagues on different shift patterns handing over work and reporting any issues.
  • Undertake any reasonable requests for training, either internally or externally, in order to improve performance and capabilities.
  • Maintain high levels of compliance with health and safety standards whilst performing duties.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside of shift pattern when cover is required.
  • Follow the company Lock Off Tag Out Try Out procedure at all times.
  • Complete all shift work instructions and fill in report book accordingly.
  • Assist with the compiling of Risk Assessments & SPTW and adhere to all active procedures.
  • Monitor & supply mechanical support of machine set-up & changeovers to ensure that products conform to quality assurance standards, whilst ensuring changeovers are as efficient as possible.
  • Provide Maintenance shift cover when required.
  • Carry company radio at all times to ensure quick response to breakdowns.
  • Undertake any reasonable request made during working hours.
  • Maintenance personnel are expected to work during shutdown periods and any holidays booked will be authorised at their managers discretion.

To be successful in the role, the right candidate must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Formal qualifications within both mechanical engineering (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or similar).
  • Solid work history & experience working in a mechanical position required for this role.
  • Experience servicing/repairing components.
  • Conveyors, Motor & gearbox servicing/experience.
  • Good competency with hydraulic & pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Ability to weld, grind and use oxygen/acetylene equipment.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage to the successful applicant

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing workload.
  • Good problem solver with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Electrical experience
  • Preferably forklift truck license but not essential.

Salary up to £44000 per year dependent on experience, with additional monthly production bonus paid dependent on production targets being met.
