Job Description

1. PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE:

1.1 To assist the Maintenance Team in the provision of basic maintenance services to the buildings and grounds of the Company, to ensure that the fabric of the building, all fixtures and fittings are maintained in safe and proper working order. The majority of the duties will involve painting and decorating.

2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

2.1General maintenance and labouring as required inside and outside the buildings covering all aspects of maintenance including basic carpentry, decorating, plumbing etc.

2.2 Cleaning and clearing of drains and external light well areas.

2.3 Changing light bulbs, tubes and starters.

2.4 Ensuring that areas are cleaned up after jobs are complete.

2.5 Perform preparatory work for maintenance activities, including gathering equipment, material and supplies, loading and unloading materials.

2.6 Operate a vehicle for pickup and delivery duties.

2.7 To operate power and hand tools.

2.8 Perform a variety of routine physical tasks such as painting and decorating, building furniture, installing shelves, moving service user possessions in or out between sites etc

2.9 Adhere to safety working practice procedures and policy.

2.10 Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

2.11 Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as may be required.

3. Nature and Scope

Maison Moti Ltd is an established provider of accommodation, care and support services for vulnerable people. The company has a number of properties in and around the North London, East London and Hertfordshire area, which due to the service provided must be maintained to extremely high health and safety standards. The working hours of this post are 40 hours per week normally between 9am and 5 pm Monday to Friday with a paid lunch break as specified in the contract. However, it should be noted that some flexibility will be required regarding start and finish times and there may be the occasional need for weekend work.

4. Knowledge/skills/professional requirements

Although the work is routine most of the time, it is essential that you are able to work:

· Due to physical requirements possess stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work in and outdoors in all weather conditions.

· Basic preventative maintenance techniques

· Safe working practices and procedures

· Safe driving rules and practices

· Work independently and as part of a team

· Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of staff and service users

You will also be required to attend professional learning and developmental activities as required and be committed to working within all company protocols, policies and procedures, including equality & diversity.

5. Responsibility

· Working under direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager

· Providing information and advising others

· Working within a defined budget

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.05-£13.50 per hour
