Please note we operate a late licence up to 5:00am, the role will include late nights and weekends
Job summary:
As the first point of contact with members and guests, the reception is essential in delivering the experience of The House of KOKO and enhancing the Member & Guest journey.
As a Maitre’d you will support the team and management in delivering a high-level service standards, warmth, and panache to the experience of KOKO, by providing knowledgeable service with a tailored approach.
You will be able to multitask and lead by example with exemplary standards and conduct. It is a role with focus on guest interaction and service.
With a talent for creating relationships and connecting people with keen interest in music, culture, art and hospitality, the ideal candidate is a confident and charismatic, with industry experience and proven success in championing efficient and effective service flows and make commercially sensible decisions balanced with ensuring excellent guest experience.
KOKO – The story so far….
London’s iconic KOKO reopened in Spring 2022 after a three-year restoration and redevelopment – The new KOKO includes onsite broadcast facilities, recording studio, 12 performance venues including the fully restored 1,600 capacity theatre, first opened in 1900, now updated with an NFT art gallery and cabled up with streaming and fixed 4k cameras for content capture and live stream. Curated artist content will be broadcast and hosted across the KOKO app and platform.
The House of KOKO is London’s new and dynamic members’ club connected throughout to the main theatre, and redefining entertainment experience in this space, with music, cultural and tech programmes. The House of KOKO features a cocktail bar in the famous copper Dome, a roof garden and terrace, penthouse studio, jazz bar, piano room, stage kitchen, vinyl listening rooms, multiple stages, bars and restaurants.

Role & Responsibilities:
- As part of reception, being the first point of contact to guests and member as entering the House
- Working closely with Restaurant management to elevate the guest experience as well as to achieve commercial goals
- Managing enquiries in an efficient manner, sharing information as appropriate
- Utilising, updating and optimising reservations and CRM software
- Having strong understanding of the offering, and able to guide members and answer questions with confidence in every aspect of the business including the THOK, Café KOKO and the Theatre
- Allocating seating to maximise covers whilst ensuring efficient service
- Being an ambassador for the KOKO brand values, promote best practice and conduct leading by example
- Building relationships with existing members as well as new members and guests
- Collaborating closely with Hosts, Reservations, Events and Membership departments delivering seamless services
- Working alongside the food and beverage team to provide guests and members with the full experience
- Support the management team with ongoing training and development
- Planning out the upcoming services and looking at the week ahead, communicating clearly to encourage information being shared fluently
- Adhering to health & safety regulations at all time
- Reasonable request may be asked outside of your department for the needs of the business
About you:
We’re seeking an individual with a passion for curating members experiences beyond the expected – You would have a natural talent for creating relationships and connecting people with keen interest in music, culture, art and hospitality, with previous experience of managing a team focussed on reception and guest relations.
- Have industry relevant experience in a similar capacity, working towards both internal and external stake holders
- A keen interest in creating an entertaining environment, with integrity.
- Immaculate personal presentation with excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Natural ability to seek opportunity and solution, engaging team members and guests alike
- An organised and reliable persona, with fluency in reporting and a balanced approach
- Actively seeking to establish trust and credibility, by ensuring excellent service
