MULTI-DROP VAN DRIVER

REQUIREMENTS

  • Full, clean B driving license (no more than 6 points, no IN10, DR20 and some other endorsements allowed)
  • Van (medium or large) with courier and goods in transit insurance
  • Right to work in the UK
  • UTR number (you can register for one if you don’t have it yet)
  • Pass on a background check (no unspent convictions)
  • Great customer service attitude
  • Good level of English
  • Smartphone (you’ll need to follow the route on the app)

TYPE OF DELIVERY Parcels to Amazon customers; delivery addresses will be residential and commercial.

NUMBER OF DROPS About 160-180 drop-off locations (stops) a day. This may be about 300 parcels (mostly small and light).

HOURS 9-hour routes. Depending on the depot, starting times vary between 8 am and 11 am. In case you finish early, you can choose to help other drivers who are struggling and earn extra.

LOCATIONS AVAILABLE:

  • Portsmouth (DPO1) Amazon Depot, 32 New Lane, Havant PO9 2NG

CONTRACT TYPE: self-employed, contract for services signed upon onboarding completion. You’re responsible for your taxes, tools, fuel, and schedule.

VEHICLE TYPE Medium (SWB) or large (LWB) size van insured for hire or reward/courier use + goods in transit liability.

If you do not have a vehicle, you can hire one from the company of your choice.

In case you need help with hiring, we have a partner company (OFS—Omega FleeSolutions)), who can hire a vehicle for you.

You will then be considered a fleet (rental) driver, and you will pay van rental charges, PCNs, and any damages caused directly to the supplier as per your rental agreement. The rented van comes with insurance.

Discounted rates are available at certain periods and with limited availability. For further information

Job Description

Matthew James Recruitment Ltd are current looking for a reliable Van Driver to join my client on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials to various locations in a safe and timely manner. This position requires a valid driver’s license, excellent driving skills, and the ability to read maps and follow directions. The Van Driver must also be able to lift heavy objects and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle.

Working hours: Tuesday- Saturday 7:30- 5.30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
  • Load and unload cargo from the van.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
  • Communicate with customers in a professional manner.
  • Navigate routes efficiently.

Pay: From £27,600.00 per year
