Night Care Lead – Children’s Team
Job Description
We’re looking for a Night Lead Support to join our Children’s Team at Diverse Abilities.
We need you to help us to lead on the delivery of exceptional, high-quality care for children living with disabilities.
Annual Salary: Starting at £27,144.00 per annum, rising to £28,080.00 per annum after 1 years service.

Diverse Abilities is Dorset’s disability charity who have been supporting children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities since 1955.
The people we support are unique. They are people living with profound and sometimes undiagnosed conditions. Their medical needs are complex and their disabilities are life limiting. Despite these disadvantages, we believe they should live the best life possible.

Working Hours:
36 hours worked over 3 nights (7.15pm -7.15am)
Working a fixed 2 week rolling rota (Working alternate weekends.)
Week 1 – Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Week 2 – Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
What we need from you:
- Minimum of 1 years care experience.
- Full UK driving licence with access to own transport
What the role involves:
- Taking responsibility for a child/young adult within the home/in the community including following care plans, dispensing and administrating medication and maintaining physical, social and emotional needs.
- Taking the lead in emergency interventions for children/young adults where necessary.
- Oversee night staff team on duty, completing supervisions and performance reviews when needed.
- Contribute to regular revisions of care plans as required.
- Discuss and report any concerns about the children or young people with senior staff.
- Act as a role model to staff under your guidance.
