  • 4 days on 4 days off day shift pattern – 40.5 hours per week
  • Day Role – 6am to 6pm
  • Night Role – 6pm to 6am
  • £30,000 per annum plus benefits

One of the UK’s largest independent providers of water and wastewater solutions is actively seeking two Transport Planners to join its Thames Water Contract team responsible for the scheduling of works on drainage and wastewater infrastructure within London and the Southeast of England.

The Role

You will be assisting with the scheduling of HGV Tankering and Jetting units covering both reactive and planned works. This role suits someone looking for a combination of office – related administrative tasks, planning, and being able to problem-solve reactively.

Responsibilities

  • Optimising, preparing, and scheduling the preventive, planned and remedial maintenance.
  • You will schedule work orders in accordance with SLAs, whilst optimising travel routes and increasing productivity.
  • Collaborating closely with the engineers to identify and rectify issues whilst improving the effectiveness of the operations department.
  • Maintaining exacting standards within Health, Safety & Environment, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Communication and Continuous Improvement.
  • Effectively supporting the Operations Manager and operations team to meet output requirements in quality expectations, cost management and the delivery of key objectives and operational performance targets.
  • Managing and coordinating the promoted workload according to defined priorities, estimating resource and duration requirements in line with agreed metrics.
  • Participate and supporting scheduled meetings.

About you:

  • Transport management or planning experience would be advantageous.
  • A keen willingness for progression
  • Ability to make decisions in a time-pressured environment.
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Effective communication skills
