Job Overview
The Nursery Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position requires strong leadership skills and a passion for early childhood education. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for managing staff, developing educational programmes, and maintaining communication with parents and guardians.

Duties

• Oversee the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children’s development.
• Manage and lead a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance.
• Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
• Ensure that all nursery policies and procedures are adhered to by staff and children alike.
• Organise staff training sessions to promote professional development within the team.
• Conduct regular assessments of children’s development and implement strategies to support their learning needs.
• Manage nursery budgets and resources efficiently to ensure sustainability.

Skills

• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff, parents, and children.
• Proven experience in early childhood education or a related field is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and manage a team effectively.
• Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is required.
• A proactive drive to create an engaging learning environment for children.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a busy nursery setting.
• Ability to foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff members alike.

Requirements:

• Previous experience within a management structure in an Ofsted Good or above rated nursery
• Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
• 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a nursery/preschool setting
• Passionate, approachable, caring, positive and friendly
• Ability to motivate, manage, and work effectively within a team
• Strong understanding of the EYFS and current Early Years Inspection Framework
• Thorough knowledge of child safeguarding and welfare
• Full-time availability, 40 hours per week across 5 days

Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
• Maintain high standards within the nursery, meeting EYFS requirements
• Provide leadership and support to staff
• Implement safeguarding policies and procedures and EYFS guidelines
• Promote positive relationships with parents, carers and outside agencies
• Oversee staff training, recruitment and development
• Manage administrative duties and regulatory compliance

Pay: £34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
