Job Description
Overview
Meiyume are looking for a part time Packaging Designer to further strengthen the regional team.
The role, based at the Trowbridge UK site, will offer an exciting opportunity for someone ready to further their career.
Working in a small team, where flexibility is key, there will be opportunities to answer a variety of briefs from internal teams and direct from customers that include well know high street retailers and brands.
The role requires mostly graphic and two-dimensional design exploration for printed beauty packaging but thinking in a finished three-dimensional form and willing to explore ideas and solutions in a 3D format is essential.
The role requires someone who is enthusiastic, imaginative, with a proactive approach to learning, an ability to use initiative and a professional approach to timekeeping.
There will be opportunities to express a creative skill base using the full Adobe suite and
3D visualisation software is available. Further opportunities to explore photography and moving image for Global marketing campaigns may also be available.
Duties
- Working closely with all members of the design department, to take briefs from the marketing team or a client. Establish a clear understanding of brief requirements to deliver creative solutions that fit with the expectations of any internal commercial lead or client.
- Work on existing or supplied designs to adapt to client’s requirements or manufacturing needs as required
- Produce high quality visuals and mock-ups for accurate evaluation from either client or internal sources. Working with external suppliers as necessary.
- Build a full understanding of all print processes used in the manufacture of packaging, so that designs are within the capabilities of manufacture.
- Provide support to design and artwork process by building style guides as and when required for use internally and for customer reference
- Work closely with the Artworkers to ensure consistency and adherence to Style Guides.
- As a member of the Design team, offer flexibility at any stage of the design process to ensure all deadlines are met, and quality and consistency is maintained.
- Utilise trend resources to stay in touch with the latest industry trends. Use these insights to form the basis of design exploration work.
- Create and present design presentations when required
- Any reasonable additional duties requested or delegated by your manager.
Education and Experience
- HND and/or Degree Level in design
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within a relevant role
- Spoken and written English Language
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) with knowledge of print production.
- Experience using 3D software (Cinema 4D & ESKO) and basic moving image software desirable.

Salary upto £34,000 per year, pro rata.
