People and Culture Administrator/Advisor
Job Description
We at MYSHON, would like to welcome this new post within our Leeds team, as well as supporting visits to Warrington and any site when required.
We are looking for someone, to work alongside the Head of People and culture to support the delivery of the People plan and reinforce on culture and behaviours.
To support the business to deliver and embed central and local people focused initiatives including training delivery with a focus on increasing line manager capability, employee retention and employee engagement.
The People Advisor/Administrator is responsible for supporting the management of employee relations case work by providing advice, guidance and support to educate and up-skill in relation to People policy, process and procedure in respect to the employee life-cycle. Under the guidance of the Head of people and culture, with support from the HR team.
Position Responsible for:
Key Accountabilities :
- Provide advisory level support on policies and procedures, directing transactional queries to People Services, as appropriate.
- Manage employee relations case work end to end, including note taking. Provide support and coaching of line managers, short-term & long-term absence.
- Be a champion for the HR operating model within the downstream framework, educating and supporting to navigate process and embed ways of working.
- Supporting to deliver training that reinforce the culture and ways of working and to promote best practice.
- Educate and support line managers with the onboarding and induction of new joiners, ensuring effective plans are in place and work with the management team to monitor overall colleague experience, identifying areas of improvement.
- Manage recruitment and onboarding from start to finish.
- Support annual HR activities, including promotion, performance review, talent review and salary and incentive review.
- Work alongside the People Business Partner to support the delivery of the Talent agenda, including the annual talent management and performance review cycle.
- Review, validate and return central requests for data checks.
- Work with the senior management team on initiatives that promote effective communication and senior management visibility; employee engagement activities to build on strengths and deliver improvements required.
- Promote Employee Business Resource Groups and initiatives that support diversity, equality and inclusivity.
Person Specifications:
- Experience of working in a HR admin role, including generalist HR advice and HR administration.
- CIPD professional competence certificates – or studying towards
- Experience of working in a HR advisory role, including generalist HR advice and HR administration.
- Experience of managing employee relations case work
- Experience of training delivery would be advantageous.
- Experience in BrightHR or similar HR software
- Proficient in Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Proactive / ability to act on own initiative
- Confident, motivated and enthusiastic
- Organised, with the ability to work accurately and with attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable
- Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- · CIPD Level 3 or working towards
- · Foundation level and member of CIPD
- · CPD as required.
Relevant Experience:
- · IT literate with demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft and database applications
- · Previous experience of working in within a small but busy team.
- · Experience of providing first level advice on HR Policies and Procedures, employment law and employee relations issues.
Aptitude, Skills and abilities:
- · Excellent organisation and communication skills, with a good foundation in HR theory.
- · Ability to multitask and deal with a range of incoming enquiries – organisation is key to this role.
- · Ability to manage the delivery of detailed work.
- · Ability to form and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, Managers and 3rd parties.
- · Self-motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude and a strong ability to question and dissect a problem.
- Able to streamline and improve operational processes quickly
- · Excellent organisational and planning skills; to balance multiple demands in a complex and changing environment,
- Good financial acumen with proven ability to take an analytical approach to information.
