Job Description

Sherburn Village Pharmacy are looking for a friendly, hardworking and reliable full-time Pharmacy Dispenser or Technician. Due to increasing business from the recent closure of other local pharmacy services we need to expand our team. We are a family owned independent pharmacy with a well staffed team who care about our patients and provide quality healthcare to the local community.

Sherburn Village Pharmacy has close links to local GP surgeries. We are a small but busy pharmacy, dispensing 10,000+ items per month and offering a range of NHS and private services, which we encourage our staff to help deliver, alongside the Pharmacist Owner. We have a free delivery service and are located around a 10 minute drive from Durham City Centre.

Your main responsibilities will be to assist with the efficient running of the recently refitted dispensary, assisting patients with prescription and OTC medicines, stock control and assisting the rest of the team with cleaning and maintaining a professional environment.

Pharmacy experience is essential and applicants would ideally have completed an accredited NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) Dispensing Assistant or Technician qualification or be currently working towards this. We would also consider ACT qualified candidates. Qualification evidence will need to be supplied at interview. Competence with Analyst PMR system would be ideal but not necessary.

The right candidate will be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organised and passionate about helping people. A can-do attitude and a desire to be involved in service delivery or pursuing future training would also be of interest and fully supported.

This full time role is 42.75 hours per week working Monday to Friday with no weekends. Our opening hours are 8.45am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 8.45am to 5pm on Thursdays. About the role:

The purpose of this role is to ensure that all prescribed products are picked and dispensed accurately in line with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Duties may include:
