If you are a plant/agricultural engineer looking for an opportunity to put your talents to use, or perhaps you have another engineering or mechanical background and would like to develop a new skillset, Machine Serve has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a practical, competent engineer to join our friendly team. The role would be ideal for someone with a mechanical mind who enjoys problem-solving and getting hands-on with a range of equipment from a plate compactor, to a 13 tonne slew.

You will be carrying out servicing and PDIs as well as machinery hydraulic, electric, mechanical diagnostics and repairs, both on customer sites and at our workshop. You will be solving and instigating the fitting of attachments on machines involving complex hydraulics, electrics and fabrication, including welding. We are happy to put the right person through training to enable them to become a coded welder, if required.

Other roles and responsibilities may include making hydraulic hoses, some yard work, unloading and loading with a forklift and some deliveries/collections with a van or trailer.

Requirements of Plant/Agricultural Engineer role

• You will have experience as an engineer or mechanic.
• You will have an understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and electrics.
• You will have a basic understanding of modern vehicle computing technology.
• You will have a basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematic drawings to assist in procedure for diagnostics.
• You will have at least some welding competence, and a willingness to undertake professional training.
• You will have fantastic attention to detail and will check measurements and dimensions of each piece thoroughly to ensure accuracy.
• You will be competent in using fabrication machines including grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials.
• You will be able to comprehend drawings and work specifications.
• You will be a driven, self-motivated person who is able to plan, prioritise and manage their own workload.
• You will be confident in your own abilities and decision-making.
• You will be an enthusiastic team-player.
• You will have a current driving license.
• A forklift license is desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £23,920.00-£41,600.00 per year
