Job summary

Help manage the day to day running and organisation of the Club.
Provide play care within the framework of the club’s policies and
procedures

Line manager: Manager

Responsible for: Play workers, school escorts, and volunteers in the absence of club
manager

Working relationships: Children attending the club and their parents or carers.
Club management, club staff and volunteers.
Schools, childcare and play-related organisations, registering
Authorities (OFSTED), and funding bodies.

Main duties include:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
  • Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers.
  • Providing support and supervision to play workers and volunteers.
  • Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
  • Administering first aid when necessary.
  • Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
  • Encouraging parental involvement in the club.
  • Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, schools and childcare and play related agencies.
  • Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
  • Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
  • Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures.

Essential qualities

· Experience of working with 4 to 11 year old

. Good Management and organisational skills

. Experience at team leading, leadership skills
. Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework, planning and assessment.
· Experience of administration
· Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
· Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
· Provide and facilitate safe and creative play
· Good communication skills
· Experience of working within a play-based setting
· Competent in using IT to support play and club administration

Desirable Current Certificates

. Minimum Level 3 qualification
· Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
. Appropriate child protection training
· Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 26 per week

Job Description

The Governors of Dronfield Infant School are seeking to appoint a lunchtime Play Leader. We require an enthusiastic, energetic but patient person, who is able to use their initiative to lead active, constructive play at lunchtimes for all of our children. We are looking for a friendly, caring person who enjoys working with children.

As a platinum award winning OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) School we prioritise high quality play during our lunchtimes and we are looking for a Play Leader to work alongside our OPAL coordinator and lead our play team. Job Description

The Governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Play Leader with creative ideas for improving and developing sport in school. This will include supporting team games, encouraging appropriate use of equipment and promoting fair play as well as organizing and supporting the development of the Mini-Leaders.

Applicants should have good verbal skills, be able to work as part of a team and be adaptable and flexible in their approach. Experience of working with children would be an advantage but not essential.

The hours attached to this post are Monday to Friday 11.50am to 13.15pm.
