Here at Dawn Until Dusk we are looking for a Playworker to join our Wrap Around Care team at Cotton End Forest School!

Dawn Until Dusk Ltd. Before, After School & Holiday Club provides high quality, fun, vibrant child centered and affordable out of school play provision for children at 20 schools in and around Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. At Dawn Until Dusk Ltd, we place the importance of a home from home environment in our settings, where children are encouraged to flourish through an exciting array of play opportunities and experiences.

The Role

As a Playworker you will have the opportunity to assist with a range of activities, including role play, arts and crafts, sports, disco’s and so much more! Your day to day role will be ever-changing, exciting and full of laughter.

You will be working at our setting Monday – Friday, your shifts will be 7:30am – 9.00am for the Breakfast club and 3.00pm – 6.00pm for the After School Club. This is a 22.5 hour/week and Term time only contract. You will have the option to work at our Holiday Clubs for extra hours should you wish.

You will create a safe, fun and fulfilling home from home environment for the children at Dawn Until Dusk, asking how their school day was, playing games and eating a snack before they go home for dinner. We care about our children and know them really well, and we hope you will love this job as much as we do!

Staff retention is really important to us, making sure our team members can come to work every day looking forward to their shift in a positive, supportive clean environment. We have staff who have worked with us since 2014 and any new staff that join us now, we want to take care of you too!

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Level 1, 2, 3 or above qualification in Childcare/ Early Years or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working within a nursery/preschool/childminding environment
  • A willingness to undertake relevant training in the future.
  • A passion for childcare and a genuine interest in child development.
  • Paediatric First Aid (can be gained whilst in employment).

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • As a Playworker, you will ensure every individual child’s needs are met
  • Assist with day to day activities within the club
  • Take ownership of the observation, assessments and planning for your key children in line with EYFS and provide developmentally challenging next steps.
  • Ensure we encourage and praise children’s development and achievements.
  • Understanding and following the requirements of the Ofsted voluntary and childcare register and early years register.
  • Follow all company policies – you need to know them, understand them and implement them
  • Liaising with and communicating with parents in a calm professional manner
  • Promote the services offered by Dawn Until Dusk including raising awareness of themed days and the upcoming holiday clubs .
  • Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.

Qualifications
